Amels 80 NETTO II Sets Sail for the Mediterranean After Vlissingen Departure

By Sophia Spanton

Damen Yachting has announced the departure of the Amels 80 NETTO II from Vlissingen, marking the beginning of her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean. Built for an experienced Owner with a clear brief for active time at sea, the 80-metre yacht now joins the Amels Limited Editions fleet as a highly personalised new entry in one of the Dutch builder’s most established series.

Shaped by Espen Øino’s exterior design and Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design’s interiors, NETTO II carries a distinctive metallic dolphin blue hull, platinum bootstripe and white superstructure. The yacht has been delivered with an arrangement designed around family use and extended cruising, including a private 517-square-metre Owner’s Deck, six additional guest cabins and accommodation for up to 14 guests.

Jan van Hogerwou, Commercial Executive USA at Damen Yachting, said, 'It has been a privilege to bring this experienced Owner’s vision to life. Created for an adventurous young family with a love of life on and in the water, NETTO II is ready for ocean exploration and time shared with family and friends. We wish NETTO II, her Owner and family fair winds and following seas'.

A major highlight on board is the 6.5-metre glass-bottom pool, which brings natural light into the Beach Club below, where guests will also find a gym, hammam and sauna. Elsewhere, the yacht includes a sun deck with an oversized jacuzzi, a forward tender garage and a foredeck touch-and-go helicopter landing area, underlining her emphasis on long-range versatility and life on the water.

For the Owner’s representative, Kees de Keizer, the build was defined by close collaboration and customisation, with the yard’s flexibility helping bring the original vision to life. Captain Fraser Gow, who served as build captain, described the handover as a bittersweet moment, noting that NETTO II is now ready for the voyages she was built to undertake.

The delivery also comes with strong momentum behind the Amels 80 concept, following the recognition of sistership PANGEA, which received a Judges’ Commendation at the 2026 World Superyacht Awards. That acknowledgement reinforced the appeal of the series’ balance of proven naval architecture, ocean-going capability and personalisation.

Set against the backdrop of a busy summer launch season, NETTO II’s departure adds another notable name to the Mediterranean charter and private cruising landscape. For Damen Yachting, it is both a milestone delivery and the start of a new chapter for an 80-metre yacht built to be used, enjoyed and explored
