Another Step Forward: 55m Amels STEP ONE Sold

By Sophia Spanton

The 55-metre Amels motor yacht STEP ONE has been sold, with Splinter Fangman representing the buyer and Inigo Nicholson and Ben Doof of Barnes Yachting representing the seller.

Delivered by Amels in 2012 and refitted in 2022, STEP ONE is part of the Dutch shipyard's highly successful Limited Editions series, a platform that helped establish Amels as one of the most influential builders in the semi-custom superyacht sector.

Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the 672GT yacht combines proven Northern European engineering with exterior styling by renowned yacht designer Tim Heywood. Her sleek profile and balanced proportions reflect the design language that has defined many of the industry's most recognisable large yachts.

The yacht's interiors were created by Studio Laura Sessa, while naval architecture was developed in-house by Amels. Measuring 55 metres in length with a beam of nine metres, STEP ONE offers substantial internal volume alongside the pedigree associated with Dutch yacht construction.

Powered by a twin-screw propulsion system, STEP ONE has a top speed of 15.5 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots.

The sale marks another transaction involving one of Amels' most established Limited Editions platforms. Since launching the series in 2005, the Dutch shipyard has delivered numerous yachts that continue to attract strong interest on the brokerage market, reflecting the enduring appeal of their combination of customisation, build quality and operational reliability.

Superyachts.com extends its congratulations to all parties involved in the successful sale.
