Antigua Charter Yacht Show: Remote Island to World Stage

By Heather Collier

Established over 61 years ago, the Antigua Charter Show remains a staple event in the yachting calendar, and marks the beginning of the Caribbean sailing season.

Antigua is part of the group known as the Leeward Islands, named for its prevailing winds which blow from the east. Famous for its opulent yachts, exotic views and gracious hospitality, this celebrated meeting in yachting is the world's largest multinational networking event for charter yacht brokers, captains, vendors and press.

Strictly invitation only, hundreds of yachting professionals and members of the superyacht elite are expected to flock to Antigua's historic Nelson's Dockyard for a glimpse at some of the world's most luxurious vessels.

Situated beneath the luscious backdrop of Antigua's National Parks, English Harbour and Falmouth Harbour set the ultimate, unrivalled scene for some of the most exciting yachts on the charter market today.

Antigua Charter Yacht Show is the world's oldest charter show, and has continuted to amass even greater recognition in recent years throughout the industry; the benefits of which have contributed enormously to the local and national economy. Restaurants, hotels, villas, car rentals, yachting maintenance and other services on the island are always guaranteed a huge influx of business.

Around 2000 crew members and captains accompany the yachts that are showcased every year, meeting with and offering exclusive tours for superyacht consultants to discuss the charter fleet’s capabilities, allowing brokers to find the perfect 'match' for their clients.

Viewed as a world class event, the show is built on the sentiment of making each attendee feel welcome and at home, reminding them that Antigua can be their 'home port'; an idyllic cruising destination not just for the remainder of the season, but all year round.

For the 2022 edition, visitors can expect a week of networking, tours, entertainment, delicious cuisine, cocktail evenings and competitions to shine a light on some of the industry's biggest and brightest, including the 22nd Annual Concours de Chef and Tablescaping Competitions.

"We are proud and enthusiastic to welcome you once again to the beautiful sun kissed shores of our special island for what is already shaping up to be a tremendous Antigua Charter Yacht Show," says the ACYS team.

"Our team is looking forward to making your participation while networking a truly memorable, positive and successful experience."

Taking place from the 4th to the 9th of December, you'll be able to spot some of the superyacht sphere's most notable names, including the esteemed Lady ECome Together, Triumph, and Christina O.

Stay tuned as Superyachts.com look forward to bringing you the latest news and exclusive content from the show.
