Arksen Launches 85ft Explorer Project Pelagos
UK-based builder Arksen has announced the official launch of Project Pelagos, the latest yacht from the Arksen 85 model of explorer yachts. Launched from the Isle of White, the yacht has hit the water for the first time ahead of her sea trials and handover to her owner.
Arksen has certainly been one of the most exciting companies in the superyacht industry to follow over recent years. The brand epitomises a forward-thinking approach to yachting, both in its emphasis on adventure experiences and in its focus on sustainable processes, technology and application for their yachts.
The Arksen 85 presents an extremely efficient long-range explorer yacht, capable of taking on global adventures or equally comfortable for weekend cruising. Project Pelagos is one of two 85’ vessels currently in build at Arksen.
The superyacht has been designed with family life in mind, with a custom interior tailored to the owners requirements placed upond the same efficient hull design and tri-deck platform of all Arksen 85s.
While the owner is keen to use the yacht to explore remote regions, the primary usage of Project Pelagos will be for family in the Mediterranean. The interior takes a more relaxed seating format on the main deck, providing a large, open-plan family space and preferring the al-fresco dining the warmer climates offer.
Arksen has quickly carved out its own unique position in the yachting marked since its inception in 2019, catering to Adventure and Explorer yachts.
“The launch of this vessel comes at a very exciting stage of development for the company,” reflected Dominic Bryne, Arksen Sales & Marketing Director. “2023 has already been a big year for us and with new ownership models and additional products in the pipeline, we have not finished yet.
“We can’t wait to see the vessel off on her adventures and find out what marine science they are able to support as part of that journey.”
Arksen’s commitment to reducing its impact and supporting progressive yachting initiatives played an influential role in the owner’s choice of manufacturer.

Following the launch of Project Pelagos, Arksen are due to launch another Arksen 85, Project Ocean, later this year.
