AXIOM 40: A Bold Reimagining of the 40-Metre Superyacht

By Nora Hart

In a market increasingly defined by innovation and individuality, the launch of AXIOM 40 signals a bold new direction for superyacht design. Developed by Giamboi Designs, this 40-metre power catamaran merges multihull efficiency with the layout and lifestyle of a much larger vessel, delivering the onboard experience of a 60-metre monohull in a sleek, forward-thinking package.

With a commanding 13.4-metre beam and a sculptural, glass-wrapped profile, AXIOM 40 is both imposing and elegant. The yacht’s diesel-electric propulsion system not only enhances fuel efficiency and acoustic comfort but also frees up valuable internal volume, enabling features rarely seen in this size range.

Chief among them is the beach club, which spans an astonishing 120 square metres. Thoughtfully integrated into both hulls, the space connects to VIP cabins via fold-down balconies and opens outward with sea terraces and sliding doors. An infinity pool on the deck above has a transparent bottom that introduces natural light into the space, while a waterfall feature artfully conceals the central tunnel between the hulls. A hydraulic platform, doubling as a sea-level lounge and tender launch, completes what is a revolutionary immersive waterfront experience for a 40-metre yacht.

Above, the yacht continues to impress. The main deck features a light-filled salon with lounge, bar, and dining areas, all serviced by a forward galley and dumbwaiter system that discreetly supports the decks above. The owner’s suite enjoys direct access to a 75-square-metre foredeck with panoramic views and a private pool, a layout more often found on yachts twice the size.

The upper deck houses a skylounge with a full bar and terrace access, while the sundeck offers yet another pool, surrounded by sunpads and optional helm controls for open-air cruising. Across four decks, AXIOM 40 accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins, supported by a full crew of up to seven, with quarters discreetly located forward in each hull.

With an estimated range of up to 3,500 nautical miles and a draft under two metres, AXIOM 40 is designed to access shallow cruising grounds while maintaining long-range capability. It’s a yacht that pairs ambition with precision, offering owners a vessel that is as technically refined as it is visually distinct.

From her expansive beach club to her forward-thinking propulsion system, AXIOM 40 is a statement of intent: a yacht that doesn’t just follow trends, but sets them. For the modern owner seeking something beyond the expected, she represents a compelling new benchmark in the 40-metre class.
