Azimut Launches Grande 36M

By Heather Collier

Grande 36M, newly launched in Viareggio, is the latest entry in the Azimut fleet and will be presented to the public at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022.

The new superyacht perfectly embodies the DNA of Azimut’s Grande series, with innovative design choices creating barrier-free spaces in which the human dimension merges with the sea and the sky to offer a unique sense of freedom.

The novel feature of Grande 36m is the concept of the semi-walkaround upper deck, which runs on the same level from the stern almost to the tip of the bow.

This revolutionizes the traditional layout and creates an area that didn’t exist before on boats this size. But there’s more: the windows in the skylounge open completely and disappear out of view, eliminating even this final barrier and transforming the upper deck into a huge space from which to scan the horizon.

A distinctive feature of Grande 36m is layout solutions that can be configured by the owner to ensure freedom in terms of on-board lifestyle too. The interior design is realised by Achille Salvagni, while the exterior styling is penned by the unmistakable hand of Alberto Mancini.

Grande 36m forms part of Azimut’s Low Emission Yacht range thanks to synergy between the high-efficiency D2P® Displacement-to-Planing hull, designed by P.L. AUSONIO Naval Architecture in conjunction with the yard’s research and development office, and extensive use of carbon fibre to reduce the weight of the superstructure.

These innovative design features introduced by Azimut make it possible to reduce CO2 emissions by 15 to 30%, at both slow cruising and high speeds, compared to boats of the same weight and size with a traditional chine hull.

With the launch of Grande 36M, Azimut looks ahead to Boat Show season and its eagerly awaited premieres.
