Azimut Yachts Develops Flagship of Magellano Collection

By George Bains

The long-range superyacht collection by Azimut Yachts has a new flagship. Named after famed explorer Ferdinando Magellano, the line of superyachts debuted in 2009 to push the boundaries of luxury travel, combining the thrill of adventure with sublime comfort and peace. The Magellano 30 Metri will become what the Italian shipyard has described as ‘the flagship of all flagships’.

Portuguese-born Ferdinando Magellano was a pionerring explorer of the 1500s, starting what went on to become the first circumnavigation of the Earth when he led a Spanish expedition to the East Indies in 1519. Azimut Yachts have channelled Magellano’s swashbuckling spirit into this exciting and successful range of superyachts. The Magellano line is known by its timeless naval appearance and explorer capabilities.

To celebrate the development of the flagship Magellano 30 Metri, Azimut Yachts has released a video (seen in above slider) exploring the history of the collection. Designed by the renowned Ken Freivokh with interiors styled by Vincenzo De Cotiis, the latest Magellano to be launched is the 25 Metri, which the shipyard says is just weeks away. The Magellano 30 Metri is currently in development and will be revealed in full in the near future. She promises to be a super-elegant naveta with the trademark lines of her sister ships. With a more sophisticated and contemporary profile, again penned by Freivokh, she will bring her own distinctive personality to the Magellano line.
