Benetti Announces 67m Custom Superyacht FB284 In-Build

Azimut Benetti Group Vice President Giovanna Vitelli took to the stage this week to present two new products; the Motopanfilo 37m in the Class category and the 67m custom superyacht FB284.

A couple of months ago we tuned in with Azimut Benetti Group to commemorate the closer synergy between the two brands, spearheaded by its new Group CEO Marco Valle, and were given a tantalising teaser of projects to come.

Overall Azimut Benetti Group looks back on the turbulence of the year extremely optimistically. In spite of the tragedy of the pandemic which hit Italy particularly hard during the early weeks, Azimut Benetti reflects on remarkable commercial success and group growth as the year draws to a close. And with two exciting new releases, there is much to be optimistic about.

First Benetti announced the Motopanfilo 37m, a new model which pays homage to the 1960s Motopanfilo style which transformed the superyachting landscape without excessive nostalgia or vintage pretensions. Francesco Struglia is responsible for the elegant exteriors of the yacht, with Claudio Lazzarini and Carl Pickering form Lazzarini Pickering Architetti engaged on the interiors.

Yet it was the 67-metre custom project announcement of the FB284 which really stole the show. The formidable 67m mega yacht is a capsule of against-the-grain design and cutting-edge technologies. Six decks of decadence will make up her commanding profile, designed by the talented Giorgio M. Cassetta with interiors by Benetti’s in-house design team.

FB284 is characterised by high standards of livability, well-thought through spaces and a style designed to emphasise connectivity and horizontal lines. She has been described by the Italian yard as the ‘evolution of the platform on which Metis, multiple award-winning 63m mega yachts and symbols of the shipyard’s renowned construction standards were built’

The latest in-build project joins the two 65m FB270, FB274 projects as well as 67m FB278 ‘Project Fenestra’.
