Benetti Plans €130 million Investment to Support Future Growth

Celebrating a record order book at its “Discover the House of Yachting” event in Viareggio, Benetti outlined a clear vision for growth based on strong relationships and major investment.

The “Discover the House of Yachting” event was organised by Benetti for more than 200 suppliers in the Tuscan shipyard’s supply chain. This was the first edition of the event since 2018, and one which celebrated a year of remarkable results and previewed the shipyard’s great opportunity for future growth and development.

Benetti has a full order book until 2027 and 23 launches planned for the season, which provides a huge boost for its extensive supply chain. Studies have found that the production of a 40 to 50-metre-long boat yacht involves over seventy different crafts.

“Discover the House of Yachting” was an opportunity to further consolidate these key relationships with important suppliers, who have been integral to the success enjoyed by Benetti. This has been particularly essential in overcoming the global procurement issues endured in the last season. Strong relationships built on value and trust has ensured that Benetti’s production has been unhalted, and these relationships hold the key to sustaining future growth.

“An order book reaching so far into the future allows us to take a long-term view of the work to perform and to define our production plan in advance and with confidence,” explains Azimut Benetti Group CEO, Marco Valle. “This translates into efficient production management and the ability to draw up plans with suppliers, because we think it is essential to involve them in projects for the future and to continue to grow together.”

To support future growth, the Group has devised a three-year investment plan totalling €130 million. The plan’s objectives, amongst other things, are to strengthen the production chain through process digitalisation and to increase integration between partners and the company with a view to ongoing long-term collaboration.

“Almost all our supplier relationships are long-term and also involve multiple generations in family-run businesses,” shares Davide Vernocchi, Benetti & Lusben Head of Procurement. “This is because we look for partners who share our values, and because we are chosen in part for what Benetti represents: quality, efficiency and commitment to the major issues of environmental and social sustainability.”

Benetti is a shining example of the superyacht industry’s vast impact on economies all over the globe, stimulating specialised businesses and sustaining future growth. The production of superyachts redistributes wealth in an incomparable manner.
