Bigger and Better: M/Y Audace Back on Water After Refit

By George Bains

Cantiere delle Marche superyacht MY Audace has returned to the sea following her refit at the Lusben shipyard. With the management of Floating Life’s Refit Department, the superyacht completed a reinvention refit on time and on budget. The refit included an extension of the yacht’s hull, taking her LOA from 42m to 46.6m.

Explorer yacht Audace was first launched by Italian builder CdM in 2019, and headed back to Viareggio to visit the Lusben shipyard for a number of upgrades. CEO of Floating Life, Andrea Pezzini, was very active in the process, alongside architect Mauro Scullo of Studio Sculli.

Significant structural modifications were completed during the refit, with 2.4m of length added at the stern and 2.2m at the bow to take the superyacht’s LOA to 46.6m, a 4.6m increase.

The project also encompassed a redesign of the interiors which saw the installation of 2 lifts, heated flooring and new furniture finishes. Technical and performance modifications have also been made, with the power of the generators being increased, taking the yacht’s maximum speeds up to 17 knots while simultaneously reducing her consumption by 20%. A robotic telescopic custom gangway has also been installed.

Under the management of Floating Life, the extensive refit project was completed successfully with all initial budget and schedule requirements met, and the explorer yacht is back enjoying her time on the waters.
