Bilgin Booms: Third 80m 263 Sold

Turkish shipyard Bilgin Yachts announced the sale of its third Bilgin 263 hull, 80m Project Silence, earlier this week, with several other yachts also under construction at the Istanbul-based yard.

The sale of Project Silence was announced by Bilgin Yachts at the start of this week, successfully completed in collaboration with Bluewater Yachting. As the third in the 263 series, 80m Project Silence follows suit from her sister vessels, providing an eco-friendly approach to sailing the world. Fitted with SCR systems connected to the main engines and generators, as well as her IMO TIER III compliance, Bilgin 263 III offers sustainable, yet comfortable cruising abilities.

The exclusive qualities of Project Silence, however, lie within her 20% larger interior and exterior areas, as well as her new ventilation system and increased generator capacity. Alongside this, she boasts a unique layout to the other Bilgin 263 designs, featuring an impressive staircase in the centre of her hull and a circular lift connecting her decks with ease.

Her sleek, classy exterior, designed by Unique Yacht Design, reveals an overall attractive and eye-catching profile, home to a light and luxurious interior by H2 Yacht Design. CEO and Founder of Unique Yacht Design, Emrecan Özgün, fondly commented on the Bilgin 263 series; "With the design and comfort elements, the Bilgin 263 is truly one of a kind. We created a very attractive yacht with a sleek and sexy profile while avoiding a high dosage of design clichés.

After an enthusiastic response to the global debut of 80m M/Y Tatiana, the flagship of Bilgin 263, at last years Monaco Yacht Show, Bilgin Yachts set their sights high with the following yachts in the series. With the second 263 hull already sold and under construction, and the third now mirroring the same process, the Turkish shipyard is certainly strengthening its position in the superyacht industry.

Berkay Yılmaz, the Commercial Director of Bilgin Yachts, commented on their success post-MYS; “Interests on larger yachts above 70 meters (1300 GRT) have been extremely increased after Bilgin Yachts’ success during this event. We want to focus more on the 70 to 100-meter range in the future but still want to stay connected with 50-55 meter yachts’ clients below 500 gross tons. Bilgin Yachts offer top-quality superyachts in these ranges with passion and experience.”

Together with the 263 series, Bilgin Yachts currently has a 74m yacht planned for delivery in 2024, as well as two other 50m sisterships ready for their technical launches later this year. The second Bilgin 263 is due to be launched later in 2022 and Project Silence is scheduled for launch in 2023.

We would like to wish Bilgin Yachts every success with its upcoming projects and we are looking forward to seeing its numerous launches later this year.

"The Bilgin 263 has a design attitude that will dominate the yachting sector around the world. This will clearly make her a trendsetter among steel-aluminium superyachts of today."
