Malcom McKeon Yacht Design has announced that the build contract has been signed for MM332, a 33.5m sloop-rigged sailing yacht that follows the successful delivery of SY Liara in 2019.

MM332 will be built by Baltic Yachts in Finland as the Baltic 110, and builds on an already established relationship between the MMYD studio and Baltic Yachts. This will be the third vessel to feature Baltic’s innovative electric propulsion system and the yacht will also be equipped with low emission twin 129kW generators that use new Cummins diesel engines, designed to meet IMO Tier 3 emissions regulations.

Baltic 110 is a powerful cruising yacht developed by an experienced and knowledgeable owning family, and is designed for long distance global voyaging. The superyacht as commendable eco credentials, and features a high voltage electrical system that will enable the yacht to operate in silent mode for long periods of time, while maintaining a supremely comfortable onboard lifestyle.

“We are delighted to be working with Baltic Yachts on this exciting new project,” says Malcolm McKeon. “This design features an all-carbon structure, a telescoping keel and a generous sail plan, which will ensure excellent all-round sailing performance.

“The exterior styling is new and contemporary, and maximises the use of glass in the superstructure to create a light and open interior feel. The interior itself will be designed by Andreas Martin-Löf, which will be his first venture into yacht interior design.”

The superyacht’s design includes a lifting keel and a rig package from Southern Spars.

“I am delighted to report a surge in demand for Baltic Yachts with an increasing number of clients looking at electric propulsion and the other environmentally conscious solutions we can offer,” comments Henry Hawkins, Baltic Yachts Vice President. “There’s a clear trend developing in support of low emissions yachting and we are excited to be building another yacht featuring the latest technology which supports a cleaner, greener environment.”
