Building Nations Presents Tec Wire: From Shed Workshop to Superyacht Supply

By Sophia Spanton

A superyacht may carry one name on its hull, but its construction depends on dozens, often hundreds, of specialist companies working behind the scenes.

'I don’t think people understand how many companies work for these superyachts,' says Arjaan Stevens, Founder and Director of Tec Wire.

His own journey into that ecosystem began modestly. As a young enthusiast, Stevens was already immersed in yachting. From the back of his shed, he began fabricating stainless-steel items for small yachts, practical components built with care and precision.

The turning point came with a simple question: could he produce to superyacht standards? Stevens accepted the challenge. The work was delivered, approved, and the trajectory shifted. What followed was steady progression into the upper tier of yacht construction, supplying components that, while often unseen, are essential to the integrity and finish of the vessel.

Building Nations highlights this layer of the industry, the specialist suppliers whose growth mirrors the increasing demands of modern yacht building. For Tec Wire, it began with stainless steel in a shed. Today, it is part of a global superyacht network defined by expertise and trust.
