Burgess Confirms Sale of 60m SCOTT FREE
Burgess has announced the successful sale of the 60m Abeking & Rasmussen superyacht SCOTT FREE, with Christian Bakewell and Kevin Kramer representing the seller and Gary Hardcastle of Autograph Yacht Group representing the buyer.
Delivered in 2009 and refitted in 2022, SCOTT FREE is a 1,090GT yacht built in steel and aluminium by the German yard, and has long been known as a strong pedigree Northern European build with proven cruising capability.
The sale comes after the yacht’s renewed presence on the market, following a significant refit that refreshed her interior and added a sea-level beach club. That combination of volume, refinement and charter-ready appeal helped position SCOTT FREE as an attractive opportunity for a new owner.
Burgess has also noted that the yacht has been a long-standing and popular member of its charter fleet, underscoring her versatility across private and commercial use. With the transaction now complete, SCOTT FREE continues her journey as one of Abeking & Rasmussen’s most recognisable 60-metre yachts.
The sale of SCOTT FREE also speaks to the resilience of the brokerage market for pedigree Northern European yachts, particularly those with established shipyard names, substantial volume and recent refit history. In a climate where buyers are increasingly selective, proven quality and turnkey readiness continue to hold clear value, especially for yachts that combine craftsmanship, range and versatility. Deals of this kind also underline the importance of strong brokerage partnerships, with experienced teams on both sides helping to bring together serious buyers and well-positioned assets in a competitive market.
