By Frances Flannagan

Cantiere delle Marche has announced the launch of MAVERICK, the first of three Flexplorer 146’s in the works. With a diverse range of innovative features that allow for exceptional exploration prospects, MAVERICK is equipped to deliver thrilling adventures as well as luxury cruising, setting her apart from what is currently on offer in the world of large, luxury yachts.

MAVERICK is a 44.3m motor yacht that is crafted with unparalleled precision and passion by the talented Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) team. Hydro Tec has overseen her exterior lines, naval architecture and engineering, whilst the interiors are a harmonious collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini. MAVERICK’s layout is customised to the Owner’s wishes, and features a number of standout features that set her apart from her sister ships.

This Flexplorer has been conceived, designed and engineered for safe and comfortable navigation through the world’s most remote seas, whilst simultaneously bearing all the luxury elements one would expect from a superyacht. MAVERICK has a robust design with cutting-edge technological solutions, alongside boasting a top speed of 14 knots and a remarkable range of above 5,000nm at 10 knots.

MAVERICK takes aesthetic inspiration from the much-acclaimed Flexplorer 130 AURELIA, boasting an asymmetrical layout on the main deck. Seamless service is available onboard due to a full-beam configuration to the starboard side that expands the salon area and leaves a passageway on the port side.

‘Maverick is a fantastic explorer yacht and a bearer of top-notch innovation and engineering solutions. We are confident that its entry onto the international yachting stage will be met with the utmost success’, commented Vasco Buonpensiere, Co-Founder and CEO of CdM.

The yacht’s interior is a testament to luxury, functionality and contemporary elegance, with a distinctive and personal style infused into the design. Paszkowski commented: ‘We focused on creating a family-focused ambiance, a contemporary atmosphere with the elegance of a neutral palette combined with the warmth of the selected materials and resulting in a mix of practicality and aesthetics for an overall feeling of peacefulness of a not overloaded space.’ MAVERICK has enormous windows which allow the space to be flooded with natural light, creating a serene atmosphere that’s both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

Built to journey beyond Mediterranean havens, MAVERICK has a number of features that exude both luxury and exceptional exploration prospects. She has a 22mm thick ice belt at waterline level, ensuring unforgettable journeys through frosty waters. She has been built innovatively to make the most of space onboard, with a custom-built A-frame crane that has a lifting capacity of four tons and is able to be elegantly tucked away after launching tenders. This leaves ample space for a beach club that features a gym, sauna and diving centre, a highlight for guests onboard.

Other innovative spacial features include collapsible bulwarks which extend the aft deck to 135 sqm as well as a swimming pool which can be covered when cruising, transforming into storage for deck furniture.
