CdM Presents Paszkowski-designed Explorer Range

By George Bains

Cantiere Delle Marche has unveiled an all new range of explorer superyachts designed by Francesco Paszkowski. EXP 42, the first model of the range, is an imposing structure that is ready to weather any condition and is a sign of the great things to come.

CdM has drawn up completely new options in the semi-custom realm to respond to quickly evolving client demand. The EXP range harnesses the pioneering and innovative vision of the shipyard, taking a proactive approach to the market to offer a semi-custom range of explorers from 310 to 499 GTT. A familiar face in Italian designer Francesco Paszkowski has lent his expert mind to the EXP project. Paszkowski has previously worked with Cdm on the MG line, of which three yacht have already been sold with MG 129 due to be launched soon and two MG 115 yachts in build.

Vasco Buonpensiere, Sales and Marketing Director of CdM, explains the detailed philosophy behind the Italian shipyard’s new creation. “An explorer yacht isn’t about its shape, it’s about its reliability, its range, its storage capacity and its ability to face any weather condition in comfort and safety,” said Buonpensiere. “We build cool explorer yachts, period. With an explorer yacht and a contemporary design, you have the best of the two worlds: you can cruise around the world comfortably/safely and in style. On the contrary, with a white yacht dressed like and explorer, like many we see lately, you just have a white yacht and your cruising lifestyle doesn’t change at all.

While EXP 42 is a pure explorer vessel meant to be robust in the face of any challenge, there is still an elegant beauty to her exterior profile that will draw attention in any marina. Light and welcoming interior living spaces will provide comfort and class on all adventures the yacht takes on.

EXP 42 has a displacement of around 460t, powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines and with 60,000 litre fuel tanks to give the yacht a range of 5,000nm and a top speed of 14 knots.

CdM offers a customisable interior layout to fit the Owner’s preferences. A version with 6 guest cabins is one option which will appeal to those who wish to use the yacht as a charter vessel, with equally sized cabins located on the Main and Lower Decks. There is also a more traditional layout which features a large Owner apartment on the Main Deck and four guest suites on the Lower Deck.

EXP 42 has every luxury amenity that an Owner and their guests could wish for, and a large main salon with oversized windows provides a bright and spacious entertainment area for all purposes. This theme of natural light flooding the interior is constant throughout the yacht, and is one of the innovations that has been developed with the modern owner in mind. An array of tenders and toys are hosted on the Main Deck forward, with the option of storage on the Upper Deck stern terrace.
