Columbus Yachts’ First Crossover 42 Sold

Columbus Yachts has announced the sale of its first 42m Crossover, a compact but flexible superyacht. Featuring volumes typical of an explorer yacht, her layout ensures generous spaces for those onboard, making her a luxurious and comfortable vessel.

Crossover 42 is a compact superyacht with extremely flexible dimensions, with the cockpit able to accommodate a large tender with a stern built-in crane in the starboard side as well as a 10 sqm swimming pool with relaxation areas.

Hot Lab penned the yacht’s interiors, whilst Hydro Tec is responsible for her exterior design, which is characterised by straight and angled surfaces and a concentration of volumes in the bow area. Her profile is modern and muscular, with a bulbous bow and flat tapered stern sections. The hull is displacement, and her construction is in steel with aluminium superstructures.

She can accommodate up to 12 guests across five cabins configured as three VIP suites, one double with twin beds and a full-beam master cabin. There are multiple convivial spaces across the boat, with a dining area, spacious sunbathing and relaxation zones, and a sundeck that features a bar and a table which can be transferred into a sun lounger.

As well as boasting unparalleled style, the Crossover 42 also has excellent performance capabilities, able to reach a maximum speed of over 14 knots and a range of over 5,500 nautical miles. She is equipped with two pairs of stabilisers, ensuring the smoothest onboard experience possible, contributing to the overall comfort of the vessel.

Zarpo Yachts introduced the buyer for the sale of the first Crossover 42, which is currently under construction at the Palumbo Superyacht Savona shipyard, and set to be delivered in 2025.

Giuseppe Palumbo, CEO of Palumbo Superyachts, commented on the Savona shipyard: ‘Substantial investments have been made in our Savona shipyard which we regard as a strategic facility both in terms of geographical position and of infrastructure and services available to shipowners and their crews. In Savona, our strategy is to keep on with new ship construction, guarantee a strategic berth to our fleet boats and provide our certified skills for the maintenance and refit services of boats up to 60 metres’.
