Damen Announces Launch of Amels 242-07

By Heather Collier

Damen Yachting’s 74m Amels 242-07 is now the seventh yacht to be launched from this highly impressive Limited Editions design after being spotted emerging from her drydock in the Netherlands.

With quick delivery times and build slots becoming more of a rarity within the industry, she is well underway in her final build phase and on course to be delivered ahead of the summer season with many eye-catching customisations.

Her signature exterior lines were curated by designer Tim Heywood, whilst her luxury interior boasts a bespoke, custom touch by Winch Design; an exceptional example of the Amels Limited Editions concept.

With a Gross Tonnage of 1,790, this spacious vessel can accommodate up to 12 guests and 19 crew, and features an Owner’s Deck, a foredeck jacuzzi, and an increased capacity helicopter deck. She is also equipped with the latest IMO Tier III clean emissions power and propulsion package.

“Seeing Amels 242-07 head out of the shed, into the daylight and onto the water for the first time is a proud moment for the entire team at Damen Yachting. We are now looking forward to the next phase as we embark upon the final build stages and sea trials ahead of delivery to her Owner, ready for a summer of adventures at sea.” said Peter Dijkwel, Project Manager at Damen Yachting.

The Amels Limited Editions range of superyachts continues to provide a proven technical platform with stunning, custom interiors. Damen Yachting is proud to have delivered more than 40 Amels Limited Editions yachts since 2005, and is on course to deliver an average of seven yachts each year – yet again marking another huge milestone for the Dutch shipyard.
