Damen Yachting Launches 77m SeaXplorer La Datcha

By Jenna Mehdi

77m luxury expedition yacht La Datcha has been launched by Damen Yachting. The latest jewel in the successful SeaXplorer crown emerged from her shed in the Netherlands this week ahead of her delivery to her owner later this summer.

La Datcha will be headlining the first ever Amels and Damen Yachting Private View Event, scheduled to take place in September. Her launch brings her one step closer to her exciting global charter itinerary ahead, which is set to include heli-skiing in Kamchatka, the Kuril Islands and diving adventures off the shores of Papua New Guinea.

La Datcha was built with adventure in mind, custom designed to withstand tough conditions and explore far-flung corners of the world with no compromise on luxury. Up to 12 guests will enjoy amenities typical of the most luxurious of superyachts, including an extra large beach club with sauna, steam room, massage room and gym. Her remarkable interiors were crafted by architect Vasiliy Shprits, to include impressive accommodation for 25 crew members. To add adventure to the mix, La Datcha comes fully equipped with a vast array of toys, aircraft, tenders and equipment befitting the spirit of her charters.

La Datcha is the second in Damen Yachting’s SeaXplorer range, following the launch of her 62m sistership last November. La Datcha’s distinctive naval architecture was completed by Damen Yachting’s inhouse team, with exterior lines drawn by Azure Yacht Design.

Notable features onboard include La Datcha’s dual heli setup, complete with a fully certified primary helideck and standby deck for a second helicopter, with elbow-deck hangar to accommodate both helicopters for safe stowage. She is also well equipped for long range cruising, with onboard fuelling and autonomous systems. Her guests will enjoy near-panoramic views of her incredible cruising destinations from her bow observation lounge, offering 270-degree forward facing views and ice-breaking capabilities with an IMO Polar Code compliant hull.

The SeaXplorer 77 is available for charter under the La Datcha Tinkoff Collection Label. La Datcha’s worldwide charter preview will be at the AMELS and Damen Yachting Private View event 17-19 September in Vlissingen, after which she will be headed to the Mediterranean for October and the Indian Ocean for winter 2020/21.

During the Private View event, which is highly exclusive and invitation-only, charter and new build clients will enjoy the first look of Damen Yachting’s new flagship.

The SeaXplorer range was born in 2015, as a crossover innovation by a top team of experts from the SeaXplorer design team, Damen Research Laboratory, Azure Yacht Design and EYOS Expeditions. This innovative and capable design concept is now ready to raise industry standards of explorer vessels in the most luxurious of packages.

"The SeaXplorer 77 shares the range’s core attributes: compliance with the IMO Polar Code, the long periods of autonomy at sea, and the crossover of superyacht luxury with professional capability."
