Damen Yachting Partners with Blue World Technologies

Danish developer and manufacturer, Blue World Technologies, specialised in high-temperature PEM fuel cells running on methanol. The company’s mission is to introduce energy-efficient and cost-effective methanol fuel cell technology to industries worldwide.

Damen Yachting has been working with Blue World Technologies for a number of months through the superyacht builder’s energy programme, with the strategic collaboration made official at the end of April 2023. The partnership is expected to provide huge opportunities for both parties involved, and reflects Damen Yachting’s commitment to the research and implementation of sustainable fuel technologies.

After thorough research into potential energy technology partners, Damen Yachting was convinced by Blue World Technologies’ future-proof range of products, particularly its of generation fuel cell technology. This fuel cell technology offers higher efficiency with the additional potential for more energy efficient vessel operation thanks to the quality of recoverable heat.

Damen Yachting also found synergy with Blue World Technologies’ focus on methanol,  reflecting the Dutch builder’s sustainability vision through the impact methanol can have on  reducing carbon output.

The collaboration will see the Blue World Technologies team working closely with Damen Yachting’s Product Design Managers and Engineers to implement sustainable solutions in the builder’s products and projects, ultimately taking a great step to fulfilling the company’s sustainability goals.
