Damen Yachting Sells 58m Custom SeaXplorer

By Jenna Mehdi

Following on from the sale of a full custom 72m luxury expedition yacht announced last week, the team at Amels and Damen Yachting has announced the sale of a custom 58m SeaXplorer. The SeaXplorer 58, already under construction, will be delivered in 2022.

Damen Yachting began the construction of the hull upfront, offering the experienced Owner a customisable platform with rapid delivery in under two years. Design Unlimited has been selected to appoint the interior design, which the yard has described as ‘very personal and intriguing’ to reflect the exploratory spirit of the vessel.

A certified helideck will be placed over a luxury cabana-style outdoor lounge and bar, complete with with folding balconies and an infinity pool. Damen Yachting’s SeaXplorer Design Manager Enrique Tintore commented, ‘With fresh breezes and shaded ocean vistas, the whole aft of the yacht will be a beautiful and inspiring space to experience the world.’

Damen Yachting’s popular SeaXplorer range includes the SX55, SX65, SX75 and SX105, all featuring exteriors penned by the team at Azure Yacht Design. The announcement of a custom 58m expedition yacht is testament to the SeaXplorer team’s flexibility and determination to cater to clients’ requirements.

Tintore goes on, ‘The experience is not just about amazing views, it’s also out on the water with the SeaXplorer 58’s custom 11.4-metre performance sailboat, two large multi-role tenders and a wide range of toys. She also carries road and off-road vehicles and motorcycles.

The design of the luxury explorer, true to the SeaXplorer range, is all about indoor-outdoor living. The upper deck features an open sky lounge and dining with concertina-opening glass partitions to the jacuzzi. The signature SeaXplorer indoor observation lounge will be found on the bow point, and 12 guests will be accommodated in six luxurious suites.

Designed with expeditions in mind, the SeaXplorer 58 is equipped with an Ice Class hull for polar operations and autonomy at sea for up to 30 days without port call. There will also be 15 crew members onboard the yacht, with extra accommodation for 2 expedition staff. Chilled garbage stores and waste water tanks will help to sustain expeditions in zero-discharge zones of natural beauty, such as the soon-to-be-restricted Norwegian Fjords. Sustainable and low maintenace options have also been incorporated into the design of the SX58, including a synthetic teak deck alternative - a feature also present on the full custom 72m announced last week.

The SeaXplorer 58 will be the third yacht delivered from the SeaXplorer range, following in the footsteps of 62m Anawa and 77m La Datcha. She will be the fifth Damen Yachting delivery from the builder’s facility in Antalya, Turkey.
