Delta Marine Announces Record Sale of 72m M/Y ALBATROSS

By Heather Collier

After being held under private ownership since her delivery in 2016, 72m ALBATROSS has now sold in record time after being on the market for less than three months.

Damon Smallwood from Superyacht Sales and Charter introduced the buyer, while Burgess represented the seller, with Luc Khaldoun from KAYZ Marine.

Located in Seattle, Washington, Delta Marine is a custom builder of yachts up to 100 meters in length and specialises in composite construction in both steel and aluminum. With an in-house design team Delta is able to offer its customers complete naval architecture and design services.

In terms of styling, Espen Øino International and Delta Design Group collaborated for both her exterior and naval architecture, with interior spaces and decor penned by French design studio Zuretti Interior Design.

Albatross can host up to 12 guests across six suites; two of which are located on the owner’s deck and four on the main deck, where guests can also find a large, stunning lounge. She can also accommodate up to 18 crew and six staff members.

Key features include a dedicated deck for entertainment, a wide array of amenities, including a gym, a highly spacious sundeck and a swim platform tailored for sport fishing.

Her upper deck is for the owner’s exclusive use and boasts a luxurious stateroom with aft-facing full-height windows, a vanity table and lounge seating, his-and-hers bathrooms with both a shower and bath, and a shared walk-in wardrobe.

The space also benefits from a private aft terrace with a Jacuzzi, inviting lounge area and an intimate open-air dining table, but perhaps her greatest highlights are the touch-and-go helipad and overall ability to carry five tenders of up to 8.5-metres.

Weighing in at 2,000 GT, she is considered one of the largest superyachts ever built in the U.S. She is equipped with twin Caterpillar 2,575 horsepower diesel engines that deliver a cruising speed of 12.6 knots and a top speed of 16 knots.

With a range of 7,400 nautical miles, she's also been fitted with Quantum zero speed stabilisers to ensure maximum comfort for those on board when travelling longer distances.

Albatross has been well-maintained as a result of frequent maintenance and refits, and remains in exceptional condition, with her most recent appointment taking place last month. At the time of her sale, she was asking for $95,000,000.

Superyachts.com would like to congratulate her new owner and all parties involved.
