DRAAK Relaunched as Dedicated Companion Yacht to LEVIATHAN

By Nora Hart

Oceanco has unveiled the relaunch of the 92.8-metre DRAAK following an extensive rebuild at their Zwijndrecht facilities, marking a new chapter for the yacht formerly known as TRANQUILITY and EQUANIMITY. Originally delivered in 2014, DRAAK has been comprehensively re-engineered to take on a new operational role as a dedicated companion yacht to LEVIATHAN.

Conceived to operate in seamless alignment with LEVIATHAN, the rebuild centred on functionality, operational efficiency and enhanced support capability. From the outset, Oceanco worked closely with co-makers, YTMC as the owner’s representative, and the crews of both yachts to ensure design, engineering and operational decisions were fully aligned across the two vessels.

Externally, the transformation is defined by significant structural modifications. The removal of the upper deck aft helideck has allowed for the creation of a large main deck tender area, fitted to support a dedicated dive tender. A 12.6-tonne jib crane has been integrated on the upper deck aft to facilitate complex hoisting operations, while an extended boarding platform, incorporating retractable fenders, and swim stairs, has increased overall length by just over one metre and improved safety and accessibility.

Internally, DRAAK has been reconfigured to support her new purpose-driven role. The former beach club and spa have been converted into a fully equipped dive centre complete with a decompression chamber, reinforcing her exploration credentials. The main deck saloon has been transformed into a generous crew mess, while a dedicated chef’s lab has been introduced to support intimate dining experiences for both crew and guests. Additional adaptable cabins provide flexible, high-end accommodation capacity when required.

The rebuild was overseen by Oceanco Life Cycle Support Project Manager Edwin Schneider, who also formed part of the yacht’s original build team. Drawing on Oceanco’s detailed engineering and drawing packages, the project involved a complete overhaul of several key systems, including ventilation and electrical infrastructure, reflecting the scale and interconnected nature of the modifications.

With the rebuild now complete, DRAAK will proceed to sea trials ahead of delivery later this year, ready to take her place alongside LEVIATHAN as part of a tightly integrated, purposeful fleet designed for operational versatility as much as luxury experience.
