Dubai International Boat Show 2022: Who, What, Where?

By Emily Dawkins

From the 9th to 13th March, Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) is back and bigger than ever for its 28th edition. As the largest and most established marine and lifestyle show in the Middle East and North Africa, DIBS will welcome more than 800 brands to its brand-new Dubai Harbour location this year. With some of the biggest names in the superyacht industry set to attend, we take a look at who will be there, what yachts they are presenting, and where they are located at the show, becoming your number one guide to DIBS 2022.

A forward-thinking, green-focused maritime and leisure future’ is the core focus behind DIBS this year. With sustainability and eco-conscious products at its centre, DIBS is laying the path for the industry’s important progression to a sustainable future, and its exhibitors are certainly following suit with their displays.

Azimut Benetti Group - Stand SY-02

Italian Group, Azimut Benetti, will be displaying four of the Azimut Yachts models: Azimut 78, 24.63m S8, 26.78m Grande 27 METRI and 32m Grande 32 METRI. Benetti is yet to reveal its own exhibit, although its 40m M/Y FREE DAY will be on display with TWW Yachts, where she is exclusively listed for sale.

Damen Yachting - Stand SY-04

The Damen Yachting exhibit will feature scale-model displays of several of its market-leading designs: Amels Limited Editions, SeaXplorerer expedition yachts and Yacht Support vessels. Following Amels 6001's debut last week, the Espen Øino designed Amels 60 model will in fact be heading the display, serving as one of the most popular Limited Editions on the market, with five vessels already sold. The SX 77 model, Damen’s next-generation range of explorer yachts, and the 75m YS design, Damen's new and impressive support yachts, are also joining the exhibit.

Feadship - Supporting Partner

As the supporting partner for this year’s show, Feadship will be among the exhibitors to gather at Superyacht Avenue, presenting 81.75m Pure, an innovative, minimalist concept, that was revealed to the industry last year. The Dutch shipyard is excited to offer a unique interactive experience of Pure at the Dubai show, introducing the bold vision as a project ready for build.

Ferretti Group - Stand MD-20

After making waves at MIBS last month, Ferretti Group will be showcasing four superyachts at the five-day show. The Pershing 8X and Pershing 9X models from the ‘X Series’ will be on display, alongside the 30.5m Riva Corsaro flybridge model. Ferretti Group will also be debuting the Custom Line Navetta 30 model to the Arab Emirates for the first time.

The third hull of the Custom Line Navetta 30, 28.4m MRS G, will in fact be showcased in the water by TWW Yachts. Alongside MRS G, Custom Line’s 28.1m SEVEN is also on display with TWW Yachts during the show, with both yachts exclusively available for sale with the Monaco-based broker.

Heesen Yachts - Stand MD-4

Heesen will be presenting YN 20555 Project Serena at this year’s Dubai show. The latest model in the 55m steel class, Project Serena is currently under construction and will be available for delivery at the end of 2024.

Lurssen - Stand SY-01

German shipyard, Lurssen, will be exhibiting several impressive yacht models at the show this year. Models of 55m Moon Sand, 115m AHPO, and 140m Nord, all vessels that were successfully launched last year, will be showcased at its exhibit, alongside the sustainable and climate-neutral concept of 98m ALICE. Having announced the build of its first yacht with fuel cell technology last year, alongside the set-up of an Innovation Laboratory at its Bremen shipyard, Lurssen is certainly becoming a pioneer for sustainable yachting, in keeping with the focus of DIBS 2022.

Oceanco - Stand SY-03

Dutch shipyard, Oceanco, has announced its attendance at the show, but little is known about its display so far. It is likely, however, that the futuristic 90m yacht concept, Karios, will be presented at its stand, a stunning example of the next generation of Oceanco superyachts.

Sanlorenzo - Stand MD-5

Sanlorenzo will be exhibiting its iconic SX88 yacht. Part of the SX crossover line, which also includes SX76, SX88 and SX112, 27m SX88 will be viewable from the comfort of the exclusive Sanlorenzo lounge. The SX88 is an impressive example of Sanlorenzo’s stylish and innovative design, and will be displayed in the marina across the five days.

Notably, yacht broker Burgess (Stand OD-80) will be presenting 91.4m MOONLIGHT II. Following an extensive refit in 2020, the Greek built vessel has become an incredible luxury charter yacht. Offering space for 36 guests across 18 cabins, she is currently exclusively available for charter with Burgess. Also at this year's DIBS, a range of smaller yachts will be on display: Van der Valk's  M/Y Alvali (Stand MD-12), Cranchi's Settantotto 78 (Stand MD-25), as well as Princess Yachts' Y85 (Stand MD-30).

Home to 12.6% of global superyachts, Dubai is the perfect location for leading brands to showcase their new launches and designs, and we can’t wait to see what DIBS 2022 will bring to the superyacht industry over the coming days.
