EXTRA Yachts Presents New 30m Catamaran Model: VILLA X30

By Emily Dawkins

Italian shipyard EXTRA Yachts, a brand of ISA Yachts and part of the Palumbo Superyachts network, has revealed its first, brand-new 30m motor catamaran model. Named VILLA X30, the 30m multihull features both interiors and exteriors by Dutch design studio Phathom, and has been created with casual living in mind.

Designed to offer owners and guests a laid back experience and a ‘new definition of enjoyment on the water’, the new VILLA X30 model combines open plan, multi-level onboard comfort with the efficiency of a catamaran.

Marking the expansion of EXTRA into the catamaran market, the new 30m is said to represent, ‘a dynamic synergy where automotive meets architecture’: perfectly showcasing the new yard’s DNA through the extensive use of glass, large social spaces and an open concept stern, all realised through the penmanship of Phathom.

VILLA X30 is notably characterised by extra-high ceilings, expansive interiors and a fluid layout outboard that utilises a generous 13.7m beam. But it is not just her design that makes the 30m catamaran an impressive addition to the EXTRA Yachts’ fleet.

The model boasts a range of sustainable qualities, ideal for eco-conscious owners. VILLA X30 features a quieter electric motorisation, taking full advantage of a hybrid propulsion system that will significantly reduce Co2 emissions, and will be fitted with solar panels to create efficient consumption to provide, ‘additional energy for on-board facilities’. Her sustainable nature continues inside through the use of natural or environmentally friendly materials including re-purposed fibres, sustainably assessed paints and plasters, alternative leathers and reclaimed woods; all utilised without compromising on the quality or finish.

Highlights of the new catamaran include the ‘beamy’ aftt cockpit that is adorned with a glass balustrade so as to not affect the views, and a multifunctional high/low platform that supports a 5m+ tender and a variety of water toys, as well as the ability to align with the swim platform to create an even larger beach club area.

VIP cabins onboard offer direct access to the sea, whilst a private owner’s cabin has been designed to offer a dynamic sanctuary, complete with a relaxation area, accommodation area in the centre, a spa bathroom on the lower level, and a master stateroom terrace that overlooks the sea.

VILLA X30 offers a number of configurations onboard allowing for the utmost customisation for a new owner. With a maximum speed of approximately 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of around 12.5 knots, the new 30.5m catamaran certainly offers everything and more to her owner and guests.
