Feadship to Unveil New 85m Concept 'Slice' at MYS '22

By Emily Dawkins

Feadship has released a teaser of a new 85m superyacht concept named 'Slice', which is due to be officially unveiled at next week’s Monaco Yacht Show.

In an attempt to reflect the desires of the current superyacht clientele, combined with the innovative design flair of Studio De Voogt, Feadship's new 85m concept has been described by the Dutch yard as, ‘reimagining ways to bring natural light into a yacht’s interior’, alongside, ‘integrating the interior and exterior in bold new ways’.

Soon to become Feadship’s 11th innovative superyacht concept, 85m Slice takes inspiration from her predecessors. With a ‘sculptural exterior philosophy’ from the yard’s 2021 81.75m concept ‘Pure’, Slice’s exterior profile goes further: lengthening and wrapping around a brand-new interior to create an array of unique spaces for guests onboard. A previous and ‘predictable’ flow of space has been long-forgotten, with the yard now focusing on a fresh approach to the yachting lifestyle, evidenced through Slice’s 110m2 multilevel pool deck aft.

Not only brimming with unique design features, Slice is also completely ‘future-proof’, with her engineering team claiming her to be ‘fuel agnostic’ in anticipation of more energy-dense batteries and durable, power-dense fuel cell solutions that could be fitted when available.

Feadship’s concept creations began in 2006, inspired by a drive to push research and design discussion. Beginning with X-Stream, the Dutch yard has since released a number of other impressive concepts including F-Stream, Breathe, Aeon, Royale, Choice and Pure. Each design was carefully penned based on, ‘insightful client feedback, long brainstorming and discovery sessions, and in-depth research’, to predict the trends of the next generation of Feadship owners. And the "proof is in the pudding", as the yard has since seen several yachts take inspiration from the ground-breaking concepts it has released over the years.

As a brand-new, flexible, yet feasible concept, Slice will be ready for her new owner either fully developed for immediate construction with delivery in 2027, or ready for propulsion options evolving during the next decade.

With the Monaco Yacht Show less than a week away, we can’t wait to see the full reveal of 85m Slice very soon.
