Feadship’s Bold Project 715 Unveiled: VALOR
On 17 May 2025, the doors of Feadship’s Aalsmeer facility rolled open to reveal a true trailblazer: the 79.5-metre explorer yacht, Project 715: officially now named VALOR. Making her debut from the Aalsmeer facility on May 17, 2025, this 79.5-metre explorer yacht is a bold, unmistakable statement: both in design and in ambition. Built for a repeat Feadship owner with a passion for adventure, VALOR is purpose-built for the world’s most challenging waters, including the legendary Northwest Passage.
VALOR’s steel hull is reinforced with a two-metre ice belt, ensuring she is fully equipped to handle Arctic conditions, with heat exchangers that recycle energy to maintain comfort in the coldest climates.
VALOR features an advanced hybrid diesel-electric, solar and battery propulsion system developed through Feadship’s FAED programme. Powered by four variable-speed generators and a 5.34-megawatt-hour lithium-ion battery bank, five times larger than that of Feadship’s Savannah. She can cruise silently on battery power alone for up to 48 hours. A solar array on the mast further supplements her energy needs, enabling zero-emission operation in sensitive areas. Valor will also trial Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil biofuel, reducing carbon emissions by up to 90%.
The yacht’s exterior, designed by Studio De Voogt, breaks from traditional superyacht styling. Inspired by battleships and missile frigates, VALOR features a bold, recognisable silhouette with wide walk-around decks and unique touches such as a grass-filled area and shower for the owner’s three golden retrievers.
Bannenberg & Rowell have created an interior of understated luxury, using natural materials like wood, stone, metal and glass. The main staircase, made from 48,001 parts including solid bronze, is a masterpiece in itself. The owner’s deck includes a forward-facing suite with private Jacuzzi and office, while six guest suites accommodate up to 14 guests in total.
VALOR boasts one of the largest infinity pools on an 80-metre yacht, a spacious beach club with fold-down doors, two Jacuzzis, a gym, massage room and a wide selection of water toys. An elevator connects all six decks, ensuring ease of movement throughout.
Now in final outfitting, VALOR will soon begin sea trials and is set to make her public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, where she will compete for the World Superyacht Awards. With her blend of cutting-edge technology, bespoke design and eco-conscious engineering, VALOR represents the future of explorer yachting.
"The Diesel-Electric-Battery-Solar propulsion allows the yacht to have a zero carbon footprint for up to two days running on advanced technology water-cooled batteries"
