Feadship’s Largest Yachts Through the Decades

By Nora Hart

Few shipyards have consistently shaped the superyacht landscape like Feadship. With roots stretching back to 1849, the yard has become synonymous with bespoke craftsmanship, technical ingenuity, and the relentless pursuit of perfection. Across the decades, Feadship has produced some of the largest and most innovative yachts in the world, each one a statement of design, engineering, and luxury.

2000s: Speed and Performance

The early 2000s marked a focus on high-speed engineering. ECSTASEA, launched in 2004, measures 86-metres and was the largest yacht ever built in the Netherlands at the time. She combines a tri-power propulsion system with a hull capable of exceeding 30 knots, while concealing a fully hidden helicopter hangar beneath the foredeck. In 2008, Feadship delivered PREDATOR. At 72.8-metres, she became the yard’s first axe-bow yacht, using wave-piercing technology to enhance efficiency and comfort. Powered by four engines, she pairs speed with remarkably low vibration levels. OCEAN VICTORY, launched in 2009 and now sailing as EBONY SHINE, completed the decade at 75.75-metres. She was the largest Feadship by volume at launch, with her broad beam enabling a cinema, spa facilities, gym, and extensive tender storage.

2010s: Breaking the 100-Metre Barrier

The 2010s saw Feadship push decisively beyond previous size limits. MADAME GU, delivered in 2013, measures 99-metres and combines opulent, elegant design with high performance, including a top speed of 24 knots and a concealed helicopter hangar, inspired by ECTASEA. In 2015, Feadship launched SYMPHONY, their first yacht to exceed 100-metres. At 101.5-metres, she allows for expanded guest capacity and vast amenities, including a glass-bottomed contraflow swimming pool with a waterfall. The decade culminated with ANNA, launched in 2018 and now known as AMBASSADOR. Measuring 110-metres, she introduced not only stunning architectural features, but also unprecedented capability, becoming the first superyacht able to land a tilt-rotor aircraft.

2020s: Sustainability and Scale

The current decade has so far been defined by ultimate scale and sustainability. ULYSSES, delivered in 2024, measures 102.6-metres and showcases refined space planning, with accommodation for 20 guests alongside expansive leisure areas including a winter garden, swimming pool, and helipad. That same year, Feadship launched LAUNCHPAD at 118-metres. Designed by Espen Øino, she became the largest Feadship ever built at the time, distinguished by her sweeping exterior lines, dual helipads, and enclosed observation lounge. Then in 2025, Feadship delivered BREAKTHROUGH, the 118.8-metre milestone yacht and the world’s first hydrogen fuel-cell superyacht. Operating without diesel, she relies on green hydrogen to power hotel loads and onboard systems, supported by advanced energy management, water recovery, and extensive indoor-outdoor connectivity.

From performance-driven pioneers to sustainability-led flagships, Feadship’s largest yachts reflect an industry in constant evolution. Together, they stand as milestones in engineering, environmental responsibility, and the art of pure custom yacht building.
