Ferretti Yachts Launch Hull #1 In 650 Range

By Ben Roberts

The first hull launch of the Ferretti Yachts 650 took place this week on the Adriatic coast in the province of Forlì-Cesena; marking the beginning of the renovation of the Ferretti Yachts line below 70 feet in length.

The new boat will officially make its debut in front of the international public during the next edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival, which will be held from September 9th to 14th 2014. It will then be presented as an Italian premiere at Genoa International Boat Show.

“The Ferretti Yachts 650 is yet another magnificent result of the cooperation between Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee, the Group’s Marketing Department, AYT&D - Advanced Yachts Technology & Design (Ferretti Group's research, style and product development centre), and Studio Zuccon International Project,” states the announcement from the yard this week.

Final phases of construction will be taking place over the next few weeks, meaning all required technical operations - from RINA (the Italian Register of Shipping) inspections and testing to sea trials, all the way to the verification of on board systems and equipment and the completion of the interior outfitting - will be carried out to complete Ferretti Yachts 650’s preparation for its official debut at the various boat shows.

“The launch of this model makes us extremely proud” commented Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Group's Chief Commercial Officer. “This new yacht by Ferretti Yachts combines impressively user-friendly on-board instrumentation with the brand's traditional and unmistakable on-board comfort and liveability, and features solutions capable of turning into reality the dreams of owners from all over the world, from the East to the West”.

The great interest raised by this type of craft at an international level is confirmed by the great success this project has already met with, just a few months after its first presentation.

The first hull of the Ferretti Yachts 650 was sold to a Chinese owner even before it was launched, a fact that bears witness to the increasing interest the brand is attracting on the leading market of the Asia-Pacific region.

The second hull, in turn, will go to an Owner from Lebanon, a country in the Middle East that has always been strategic for the Italian brand. The third 65-footer (the first in the flybridge version with hard top) will reach the United States in 2015, serving as an extraordinary ‘business card’ for the latest born in the Ferretti family.
