First Hybrid T52 Superyacht Launched by Baglietto

The multitude of launches continues in the superyacht industry with yet another impressive yacht hitting the water this year. Italian shipyard Baglietto has launched hull No. 10238, the very first yacht from its hybrid T52 displacement line.

Hitting the water at a private ceremony earlier this week, the 52-metre T52 marks a significant milestone for La Spezia-based shipyard Baglietto.

As the first vessel to be fitted with a hybrid propulsion system, hull No. 10238 offers a more efficient cruising mode; all in an effort to reduce both consumption and environmental impact. During cruising the T52 can reach an impressive range of 7,600 nautical miles thanks to the sustainable electric-diesel mode. She can also remain at anchor for up to 10 hours, powered only by the batteries.

Not only impressive in terms of sustainability, the T52 features exterior lines penned by Francesco Paszkowski Design. Combining the trademark design elements of Baglietto’s under 500GT steel displacement yachts with the creative genius of the Italian design studio, the result is a highly contemporary and effortlessly elegant profile. Her yet-to-be-revealed interiors are said to also offer the same levels of luxury, also crafted by Francesco Paszkowski Design in collaboration with Margherita Casprini.

In line with the current trends and market demands, the new T52 from Baglietto boasts close contact with the sea and an array of sublime features; most notably, a three-level beach club with a large pool that can transform into additional deck space.

Wide floor-to-ceiling windows that open on three sides on her upper deck create an appealing al fresco lounge and dining area, and a 24m-long sundeck offers bounds of space to relax onboard.

Baglietto's CCO Fabio Ermetto commented on the launch: ‘This is a very much awaited-for moment. Seeing one of our vessels touch the water is always incredibly exciting for us, but when this happens with the first one in a new line, the excitement is even greater. Hull No. 10238 is also the first model in this line to mount a hybrid propulsion system, marking a crucial step also in terms of research and development in our shipyard's path towards sustainable yachting - a path Baglietto is pursuing with firm determination.’

Aside from her sustainable electric propulsion, T5201 is also powered by two MTU 16V2000M86 engines, which offer a maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 3,600 nautical miles in ‘traditional’ navigation mode.

The T52 line has a maximum beam of 9.5m, a draft of 2.7m and accommodation for 12 guests and nine crew. There are currently eight T52 superyachts sold and on order.
