First Look: Leviathan Interiors Unveiled
Oceanco’s 111-metre Leviathan, delivered last year to Valve co-founder Gabe Newell, has finally opened its doors. The big reveal showcases an interior by Mark Berryman Design that upend superyacht convention.
The interior reflects a radical shift in philosophy, moving away from high-maintenance finishes that usually demand constant attention. Instead, the design team opted for high-tech, durable materials that retain a premium aesthetic while being inherently resilient. This function first approach is complemented by an organic, muted color palette and natural textures, bringing a grounded sense of calm to the vessel’s massive frame.
Beyond the aesthetics, Leviathan was engineered around the human experience, specifically focusing on those who live and work onboard. Newell’s core belief is that a yacht only performs as well as its inhabitants feel. To support this, the layout was streamlined to eliminate redundant movement and reduce physical strain. These operational efficiencies are mirrored in the living quarters, where crew areas are integrated with the same advanced acoustic privacy and precision climate control found in the guest suites.
Hidden beneath the surface is the heart of a hybrid-electric beast. The interior architecture works in tandem with Oceanco’s engineering to virtually eliminate noise and vibration, creating a near-silent sanctuary. Even the signature glass expanses serve a dual purpose: they form part of an integrated lighting strategy that slashes energy consumption while keeping guests visually tethered to the horizon.
Leviathan is a blueprint for the future of sustainable, logical, and humane yacht design. It proves that at 111 metres, the greatest luxury isn't what you can see, it's how well everything works.
"We’re incredibly proud of the way she was developed, and following her successful sea trials, we can now say she’s the most comfortable yacht ever designed, built, and delivered by Oceanco."
