Floating Life Announces 42m DREAM 42 to be Built by CCN

Swiss yacht boutique Floating Life has announced that it has signed an agreement with Baglietto Group brand Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN), to build 42m M/Y DREAM 42. Designed by Floating Life founder Andrea Pezzini, the 42m displacement yacht will become the first in the Swiss brand’s new Fractional Ownership programme.

At the celebration of its 20th anniversary, Floating Life revealled the signing of an agreement with Italian shipyard CCN to build its latest yacht design: DREAM 42. Announced at a lavish piano concerto evening located within an atmospheric marble quarry in Carrara, Italy, the Swiss boutique showcased a model of the new fractional ownership vessel.

Floating Life CEO and designer of DREAM 42 Andrea Pezzini commented on what the new vessel and collaboration means for the company: ‘we are extremely satisfied to be celebrating 20 years in business with this new collaboration which reflects very well on us and also provides still further confirmation of our presence on the market. It is something of a finish line for us because it is the result of previous very fruitful collaborations. At the same time, however, it is also a starting point because it means we share the same vision of the future.’

Featuring a variety of innovative features, 42m DREAM 42 is the exemplar vessel for sharing between several different owners. Showcasing a 5,000nm ocean-going range alongside a technical platform designed by Andrea Pezzini in partnership with the Satura Studio, and hull design by ZeroTredici, DREAM 42 combines the ideal characteristics of a superyacht within a Fractional Ownership/Time Sharing programme.

Taking inspiration from Floating Life’s previous FL Anniversary Series, FL38, FL42 and FL47, that was revealed at the Monaco Yacht Show last year, DREAM 42 boasts cutting edge space solutions. An innovative ‘under lower deck’ engine room frees space in the lower deck guest quarters and grants harmonious access to a beach club on the same level. The newfound fluidity of the two areas provide easy access for crew, as well as the addition of an adjacent technical space for storage. The new location of the engine will also improve stability, with the majority of its weight now centred within a lower level of the hull.

‘We called this yacht Dream because we believe it every owner’s dream come true,’ continued Andrea Pezzini. ‘If you compare Dream to Pearl and Emerald from the Ocean series (launched in 2010 and designed by Lord Norman Foster), you will see a whole slew of improvements to the way the liveable space is used and how privacy is guaranteed. This is because Dream 42 is the fruit of a constant focus on onboard life, the requirements and all the details that make up what owners want.’

Boasting six spacious exterior areas and accommodation for 12 guests within seven comfortable cabins, space isn’t an issue onboard DREAM 42. Her sizable profile has been designed to offer ‘optimum flexibility’ and ‘versatile space’, all adding to her appeal within the charter market.

Filippo Rossi, CCO of Floating Life, commented: ‘Floating Life is extremely proud to announce this synergy during an extremely positive time for our company that coincides with the celebrations for its 20th year in the yachting business. Floating Life and CCN (a Baglietto Group division) are two companies of excellence in the sector and being able to offer our clients this yard’s quality construction is not only a source of great pride to us but also underscores once again our focus on offering our owners products and services of a consistently high standard.’

We are delighted to have been given this opportunity,’ added Baglietto CCO Fabio Ermetto. ‘It is allowing us to re-evaluate the CCN brand, which is an integral part of the Baglietto Group, and devote it to hugely significant special and unique projects such as this one for Floating Life.’

DREAM 42 is due to begin her construction process in December this year. Currently three owners have signed the agreement for the Fractional Ownership programme onboard DREAM 42, with further contracts under negotiation.
