From ALBATROSS to MOONSTONE: Inside the Extensive Refit and Renaming
The superyacht formerly known as ALBATROSS has emerged from an extensive refit and extension project with a new identity: MOONSTONE. The newly transformed yacht was officially christened during a private naming ceremony held at Damen Yachting’s main shipyard in Vlissingen City, marking a significant milestone in her ongoing story.
Originally built by Delta Marine, ALBATROSS has undergone a substantial refit with Amels that included an extension and a series of upgrades designed to enhance both her performance and onboard experience. Following the extensive refit and extension, MOONSTONE now measures 79.2 metres in length, having been lengthened from her original 72.2 metres to enhance both her performance and onboard space.
Damen Yachting, renowned for its expertise in superyacht refits, led the project with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the yacht meets the highest standards expected by today’s owners and guests.
While specific technical details of the refit remain under wraps, the transformation reflects a growing trend within the industry: breathing new life into existing yachts through thoughtful customisation and modernisation, extending their operational lifespan while elevating their luxury credentials.
