Full Custom 45m Project to be Built for Burgess Client
Burgess has signed a contract with Alia Yachts for the build of a full-custom 45m motor yacht for one of the brokerage’s clients. This superyacht embodies Burgess’ commitment to delivering a vessel perfectly suited to the owner and is geared up to set a new standard in the sub-500GT sector.
The brand new yacht set to be built by Antalya-based shipyard Alia Yachts for a Burgess client comes in under the 500GT mark, featuring exterior design by H2 Yacht Design, interiors by Vickers Studio and naval architecture by Van Oossanen.
Burgess is renowned for dominating the market for yachts over 30m in length; its New Build Sales team has worked directly with the client from the outset to meticulously select the shipyard and the designers for this project. Burgess Technical Services will oversee the build, working with all parties to ensure a smooth and successful construction process.
Alia Yachts has been selected to build this superyacht, the 45m length hitting the yard’s sweet spot due to its award-winning portfolio of vessels up to 60m in length. The shipyard has over 15 years experience building unique superyachts, and has therefore gained a notable reputation within the industry.
‘We’re super-excited to be working with Alia Yachts for the first time,’ commented Peter Brown, Burgess Senior Partner and NBS Commercial Lead. ‘To be able to build a true custom yacht of under 500GT with a shipyard that is so receptive to our ideas, so technically capable and so enthusiastic about what we can all do together, it’s going to be an immensely positive experience.’
Gökhan Çelik also shared his excitement on working with esteemed brokerage Burgess: ‘I am thrilled to be starting the new year on such a positive note…We have worked tirelessly with partners involved to get this project to the signature stage, and I am confident that the results will exceed expectations. In particular, we have relished the frequent owner input and the very close relationship we have built with the Burgess team. I hope that this is just the start of a mutually rewarding collaboration.’
Details on the yacht’s design are being kept tightly under wraps, however it has been shared that it is set to exceed the owner’s expectations and set new standards in the sub-500GT market. Breathtaking interiors and an eye-catching exterior suited to al fresco living have been hinted at, generating much excitement surrounding her design.
John Vickers, Founder of Vickers Studio, has commented: ‘Working with a superb owner's team, including the Burgess new build department, we will develop our vision for a modern, light, fresh interior-infused with all the extra depth and personalisation to the client’s story that we like to add to our designs. She’s going to be a really wonderful yacht for the owner and his family and friends.’
The partnerships between brokerage, shipyard, and design studios are set to be highly successful, resulting in a superyacht that not only perfectly suits the owner’s vision, but represents each individual company at their greatest.
Jonny Horsfield, Owner of H2 Design, has commented: ‘We have worked extensively in Turkey over the last 30 years, so it’s a pleasure to be finally building a yacht with Alia Yachts. Our design is extremely rakish and fluid, with a strong belt line giving her a uniquely strong aesthetic, along with a focus on outdoor living on the transom area. Together with Burgess, Alia and their partners, I believe we will deliver a really special, beautiful product that will become a strong contender in this marketplace.’
Teams from all parties have been working exceptionally hard to reach the first vital milestone of this yacht’s build. This close collaboration has resulted in a smooth process, with the yacht due for delivery in 2026.
