Gresham Yacht Design Unveils 90m APOLLO
British design studio Gresham Yacht Design has revealed a new, powerful explorer concept. Named APOLLO, the new 90m concept has been developed to provide its owner with ‘breathtaking views’ whilst traversing some of the world's most remote locations.
Born from an enquiry looking to develop an alternative version of the studio’s iconic 100m THOR concept, APOLLO features a striking exterior, elegant interior and robust protection for cruising the globe.
Across seven spacious decks, the 90m vessel boasts some of the most innovative and eye-catching features ever seen onboard an explorer concept, created for those wanting to explore the world in luxury.
A particular example of APOLLO's innovative features is her central viewing platform. Fitted with large, ‘dominating’ windows that protrude outward, the full beam observation lounge offers incredible, unparalleled views out to sea. The views don't stop there. Within the main saloon below, semi-enclosed balconies with glass balustrades also provide uninterrupted views for guests to enjoy. On the bridge deck, the views continue, with a walk-around promenade for unbeatable scenic viewing points and high-quality navigation visibility.
Aft of the spectacular main saloon lies a mesmerising winter garden with a 6-metre enclosed pool. The extensive use of glass throughout APOLLO is also showcased here, with the onboard garden featuring floor-to-ceiling windows; a perfect retreat for guests to immerse themselves in their surroundings whilst remaining in a relaxing, 'controlled' environment.
A stand-out feature of APOLLO is her magnificent glass-floor expedition briefing pod. Inspired by THOR’s futuristic tender garage, this briefing pod is described as being the ‘mission control centre for all expeditions’, accompanied by views over the tender hanger below, and direct access to the helideck. Below the helideck, on the main deck, a helicopter hangar is located, alongside a dive centre, recompression chamber, tender hangar, as well as additional accommodation for guests.
Created for owner comfort, APOLLO features an all-inclusive owner's deck, fitted with a forward owner’s suite, his and hers bathrooms, a private lobby, dressing rooms and an owner’s office. But, it doesn’t stop there. A private owner’s deck, accessed directly from the secluded suite, boasts a jacuzzi and various comfortable seating options.
With a beam of 17m, APOLLO can accommodate up to 16 guests over multiple, luxurious suites, two VIPs, and 40 crew. Other onboard features of the 90m include a walk-around sundeck, spa facilities, a cinema, and new technology for exploring nature both above and below the waterline.
