Heesen Reveals First Details of New 50m Steel Series

Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts has revealed the first details of a brand new 50m full-displacement steel series that is currently under development. Unveiled at last week's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), the new design is due to be officially launched to the industry by the end of this year.

As a shipyard recognised for its ‘exceptional performance, cutting-edge technology & timeless design’, Heesen has once again intrigued the industry with its latest announcement.

Teasing the first details of a new 50m full-displacement steel series at FLIBS, Heesen highlighted several of the key features of this new, cutting-edge design, with full details of the design team, however, remaining tightly under wraps.

Crafted to ensure the utmost efficiency and onboard comfort, the new 50m series will feature Heesen’s Fast Displacement steel hull that boasts, ‘great seaworthiness for optimal comfort in all sea conditions.’

Alongside a harmonious ‘outdoor-indoor’ layout, the new vessel will boast hoards of natural light through large sliding windows in the main saloon. From a functionality perspective, the design will offer separate crew passages for ‘discreet and efficient service’.

Twelve guests will be accommodated across six lavish staterooms onboard; one grand, full-beam master suite with a starboard french balcony is located forward on the main deck.

Storage for a tender and toys is conveniently situated on the main deck, allowing guests to enjoy a split aft deck terrace overlooking an infinity pool and a large fixed-swim platform.

Heesen revealed that the new 50m series will be below 500 GT, and, like all Heesen yachts, will be available with the Heesen hybrid solutions, to offer a silent cruising experience. The new design is expected to replace the current 50m steel series, which currently includes three yachts: OMAHA, ARKADIA and the recently delivered Project AURA, now OCEAN Z, who was debuted during FLIBS.

The team of designers, alongside further details of the new 50m series, will be announced in December 2022.
