Heesen Yachts Launches Superyacht Talk Show 'Yacht Talk'

By Jenna Mehdi

Increasingly popular in the post-COVID era, talk shows and webinars provide a convenient way of engagement from the comfort of our own homes - uniting individuals within an industry isolated by travel restrictions and cancelled yacht shows. This is certainly the case with Heesen Yachts’ newly released YachtTalk, the first episode of which aired earlier today.

One of the most prominent shipyards in the world, Heesen has brought together a selection of talented and knowledgeable industry figures to discuss the hottest topics in yachting at the moment. Chaired by host Charlotte Kan, the first episode ‘The Superyacht Industry After COVID-19’ features Erik Floor, Yachting Expert and author of the annual SYBAss Economic Report, Alessandra Nenci, CFO of Fraser Yachts, Mark van Drieberge of Hypsos InstorePartner and Arthur Brouwer, CEO of Heesen Yachts.

Among the topical subjects touched upon in the first episode, the panelists discuss the likelihood of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show taking place (as Informa Markets maintains it will). Arthur Brouwer and Alessandra Nenci confirm the non-attendance of Heesen Yachts and Fraser Yachts respectively, while Mark van Drieberge discusses the future of yacht shows more generally.

The panelists delve into the economic effect of the global crisis on the superyacht industry, its clientele and the future of yacht brokerage. Despite the economic recession being deeper on a global level than any depression since the 1930s, all is not doom and gloom.
