Hill Robinson Unveils SOUNION II's Extensive Interior Refit

By Frances Flannagan

Bearing a classic Bennetti exterior profile with a new, stylish interior, SOUNION II boasts unrivalled luxury following the completion of an extensive refit. She is a timeless yet beautiful vessel, available for both sale and charter.

Completed over a seven-month period in Naples, SOUNION II’s refit not only includes a sophisticated interior design, but also the optimisation of onboard space, created by Anoushka Hempel. The design has a subtle Asian influence, with muted tones and striking black details pervading the colour palette, alongside eye-catching furniture pieces such as Japanese screens and antique Louis Vuitton trunks. These intricate design elements create an atmosphere reminiscent of vintage cruises to faraway places: the ultimate luxurious escape.

Hempel’s design for a 27.13m gulet yacht, entitled BELUGA ONE, was the inspiration for the open plan and informal layout. Observing the refined grandeur of SOUNION II alongside emulating aspects of BELUGA ONE posed a unique challenge to the design team.

‘SOUNION II is wonderfully unique. With her design, East meets West and I always enjoy playing with this cross over of cultures, history and design. You have the traditional classical elements of truly beautiful Italian style folded in with the discipline of an Asian influence. The symbiosis of both and the balance between the two make SOUNION II truly magical.’, commented Anouska Hempel, Designer, SOUNION II.

She can accommodate up to ten guests in four cabins, with the master stateroom being located on the upper deck and a second master suite, VIP double and twin cabin on the lower deck. All cabins have an en suite and the master stateroom benefits from direct access to an aft exterior lounge.

During the refit, the main saloon was reconfigured, an office was built, and a cinema setup was added to the spacious sun deck.

‘SOUNION II features a unique interior design that is coherent across each deck to portray tranquillity and relaxation. The bird motif is a recurring theme throughout and is best described as a crane that tries to free itself from the canvas by tearing it with its beak. I found it extremely poetic and inspiring for a family that wishes to travel with SOUNION II all around the world’, commented the Owner of SOUNION II.

Beautiful design features were not the only upgrade that SOUNION II saw as she also experienced an impressive refit in terms of technology. A new AC system, new radar, upgraded navigational systems, and a new water maker were all installed, building on the maintenance she underwent in 2022.

SOUNION II has a cruising speed of 11.5 knots with stabilisers ensuring the smoothest ride possible, as well as low fuel consumption which makes her significantly more economical than other yachts of this age and style.

She is listed for sale with Moravia Yachting and is available for charter with Hill Robinson between Sardinia and the South of France. Camille Medina, Charter Manager at Hill Robinson, commented: ‘This characterful yacht embodies all the timeless style of these canoe-sterned classics whilst offering an owner and guests all the comfort and amenities associated with the luxury superyacht lifestyle.’
