Home At Sea: Burger's New 120 Raised Pilothouse Concept

By Jenna Mehdi

North American cruising has seen a surge in popularity this year as boating enthusiasts rediscover their home waters and reclaim quality time with loved ones. Burger Boat, in keeping with its ever-close attendance of clients’ wishes, has launched a new concept which answers to the changing world we live in. The Burger 120 Raised Pilothouse motor yacht is the ultimate yacht for exploration, with advanced new features to make this the perfect ‘home at sea’. The latest Burger boat is built to escape the confines of land and rediscover the sublime beauty of the water, with all of the home comforts and luxury of a world-class superyacht.

Bearing all of the signature trademarks of top quality manufacturing and design, the Burger 120 has been designed with Gregory C. Marshall Naval Architects. ‘Our focus is always on providing options that excite our clients,’ says Jim Ruffolo, President of the Burger Boat Company. ‘We’ll start with a blank sheet of paper or a concept like the Burger 120 Raised Pilothouse Motor Yacht.'

In this case, the concept took the form of a modification to the typical raised pilothouse configuration, born from a desire to bring Burger clients something totally new. This entails an exceptionally sleek profile, ulta-luxurious sundeck with tender and jet ski storage, a  jacuzzi and comfortable socialising area. The yard’s optimisation of space on the Burger 120 is remarkable, including the connectivity between sun deck, pilot house and aft deck. Though the design is highly customisable, that put forward by the yard includes an on-deck owner’s stateroom, private office and four guest staterooms.

The yacht is illuminated throughout by abundant natural light, flooding in through the large hull windows and open plan layout. The Burger 120 also accommodates for a large beach club and sports room aft, expansive storage area and three ensuite crew cabins.

We design and build yachts that our clients can take around the world with family and friends to enjoy all the best that life has to offer,’ adds Jim Ruffolo.

With a unique hull shape optimized by CFD and tank testing at the Wolfson Unit in the UK, the Burger 120 excels in every aspect of performance as well as aesthetics. This was integral to creating a superyacht with longevity, on which clients can spend long periods of time and ensure they are getting the best out of their Burger vessel.

Burger owners will also have the option of joining the  Burger Care® program, granting them access to round-the-clock shipyard support and aftercare and enforcing Burger’s lifetime commitment to their clients.
