Home at Sea: Introducing the New Ferretti Yachts 860

By Candace Diamond

Ferretti Yachts’ newest flybridge is the third vessel constructed by the Product Strategy Committee, naval architects Filippo Group Engineering for the exterior in conjunction with Ideaitalia for the interior. Cutting-edge design and modern technologies ensure the utmost style, comfort and space whilst also incorporating outstanding performance on this 26.95m luxury yacht.

Ferretti Yachts 860 has been romantically compared by the Italian shipyard to a melody, in which the notes of each individual instrument are beautifully orchestrated and aim to bring a new symphony to life by having style and architecture working together in harmony.

Embodying time-honoured Italian elegance mixed with practicality, this new design also offers multiple opportunities for customisation, allowing the owner the highest level of choice when designing their personal onboard experience.

The exterior of the yacht’s various advanced innovations include floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing more natural light, and glass fashion plates emphasising her sleek silhouette and contours.

The interior design is striking yet harmonious. It is available in both classic and contemporary styling, the former illustrating darker and warmer colours, the latter in lighter and cooler colours. The blend of these styles and trends aims to create that ‘at home’ feel, now a distinctive hallmark of Ferretti Yachts. Other features include a helical staircase on the main deck leading down to the lower deck, freestanding furniture and windows that open on both sides of the hull.

The lower deck provides for four cabins. The master cabin is midships, the VIP cabin forward and two doubles with ensuites. The galley and service area are multifunctional and separate from the guest area ensuring privacy between owner, guests and crew. The crew quarters contain two double cabins and ensuites.

The cockpit is spacious with a glass parapet at the stern, furnished with two sofas facing each other surrounding the large central table. The beach area can be entered from either side of the yacht and provides access to the garage, which can contain two water toys, a 3.95m tender and a two-seater jet ski. Additional highlights include configuring the flybridge with freestanding furniture and multi-functional bar unit, a dinette that can seat eight with the option for a jacuzzi on the aft deck.

Ferretti Yachts 860 will be equipped with twin MAN V12 engines rated 2,000hp, giving her a cruising speed of 27 knots and a top speed of 32 knots. Also available is a version with two MAN V12 engines rated 1,800hp, for a cruising speed of 24 knots and a top speed of 28 knots (all preliminary data).  Furthermore, Seakeeper gyro stabilizers or Zero Speed hydraulic fin systems can be installed on request according to individual navigating and mooring needs.
