Horizon Yachts Launches Custom RP125 Built for Repeat Owner

By Emily Dawkins

Horizon Yachts’ brand new custom RP125 motor yacht has hit the water. Now named VIN XAN, the new 38m custom vessel was visualised by, and built for, a repeat Australian owner, who previously owned an RP100 yacht, a smaller version of Horizon’s popular Raised Pilothouse (RP) design. At 38m VIN XAN has become the largest yacht built by Horizon to be sold in Australia.

Crafted on the platform of Horizon’s Raised Pilothouse design, combined with the new incorporation of an FD Series High Performance Piercing Bow, 38m VIN XAN is set to soar beyond the ordinary thanks to her custom elevated performance capabilities.

Stretching to an impressive length of 38m/125 ft, VIN XAN proudly stands as a celebration of innovation and individuality for the Taiwan-based yard, complete with a unique new layout and exclusive design.

One of the most striking deviations from the RP125's standard layout is the absence of a raised pilothouse, which has instead been removed to allow for a more spacious main saloon and a spectacular main deck galley space. The wheelhouse has been seamlessly transplanted to the bridge deck, featuring a cutting-edge console accompanied by twin helm chairs and a dedicated desk area.

As artistry meets functionality, the interior of VIN XAN radiates sophisticated style. With details finished in opulent South American walnut and ebony accents, the main salon beckons guests with an inviting L-shaped sofa facing a fold-down television, accompanied by a lift-up wet bar complete with sink, refrigerator, and ice maker. An exquisite onyx panel, illuminated by LED lighting, envelops the bar, mirroring the same stone of that in the master suite's design and the aft deck's dining table. The salon's raised overhead design seamlessly flows into the interior dining area, where Swarovski crystal lights dance above a bespoke ebony dining table for ten guests.

A meticulously designed wine cooler and custom-made china and glassware storage ‘credenza’ defines the boundary between the dining area and the generously equipped galley. Exceptionally spacious, the galley sets new standards for yachts of this class, boasting high ceilings, abundant natural light, a walk-in refrigerator, and well-conceived built-in storage. Designed to follow a similar nature to the layout of the FD Series, the RP125 features an on-deck master stateroom adorned with walk-in closets, a vanity, and an ensuite with double sinks.

In a true display of innovation from the yard, the interior staircase features a motorised, leather-wrapped handrail, which can be raised or lowered at the touch of a button according to the guest. On the lower deck, guests can find two VIP staterooms alongside two convertible twin cabins, one with a Pullman, situated forward. As a personal touch from the owner, each cabin door is adorned with custom artwork.

A capacious beach garage on the lower deck has been tailor-made to accommodate the owner's cherished aquatic pursuits including fishing and diving. This goes hand-in-hand with the exterior spaces onboard, which have also been customised to suit the owner’s active, sociable lifestyle. The split-use sky lounge features a wet bar opposite a U-shaped settee, all protected by an overhang to create an all-weather outdoor entertaining space. A BBQ grill and freestanding dining table for eight are situated on the exterior area aft, and the foredeck offers yet another space for soaking up the sun and the views.

VIN XAN has redefined the meaning of luxury customisation with Horizon Yachts, now solidifying her worthy place as the new flagship of the Horizon HP series.
