INTERSTELLAR: A Visionary Concept from InMind Design Studio
InMind Design Studio, led by Lorenzo Squadrito, has introduced INTERSTELLAR, a superyacht concept that aims to balance bold aesthetics with timeless appeal. Designed to stand out without relying on passing trends, INTERSTELLAR blends architectural precision with a clean, sculptural form that reflects the studio’s evolving approach to contemporary yacht design.
The yacht’s layered profile gives it an immediate visual identity. With decks that appear to float above one another and a sleek bow that contrasts with an open aft, INTERSTELLAR was created to feel both modern and enduring. Glass plays a central role throughout the design, particularly on the sundeck and in the owner’s suite, enhancing natural light and offering uninterrupted views of the sea.
‘The real challenge lay in finding the right balance: something that transcends time without losing its power,’ explains Squadrito. ‘Our goal was to design a form that doesn’t follow trends, but defines its own.’
Functionality underpins much of the concept. A transformable helipad becomes a scenic pool, while the beach club below includes fold-out terraces for direct access to the water. Modular elements on the upper deck allow for different configurations, from a cinema to an outdoor lounge or dining space. Each area is distinct but fits within a unified, streamlined layout.
INTERSTELLAR’s potential owner is imagined as someone with a refined design sensibility who wants their yacht to reflect individuality rather than blend into a marina. ‘They’re not just after luxury,’ says the studio, ‘but meaning. A vessel that expresses creativity and character.’
Beyond aesthetics, the concept also incorporates hybrid propulsion and energy-efficient materials, showing an awareness of environmental performance without compromising on design.
INTERSTELLAR isn’t just a styling exercise, but a concept built on clear purpose, intended to open up new conversations around how a superyacht can look, feel, and function. Ultimately, it represents InMind’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of modern yacht design.
"Our goal was to design a form that doesn’t follow trends, but defines its own."
