Largest Superyachts Attending FLIBS 2021

By Jenna Mehdi

The largest in-water boat show in the world, Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, is almost upon us. Despite the fact that many of our European colleagues will be watching the show from afar this year, the Superyacht Village looks set to play host to a strong collection of large yachts 50m and over. We took a look at the largest and most notable yachts on display at the show this year.

BOLD - 85m / 278’ - SilverYachts
Australian charter icon and Espen Oeino-designed show favourite BOLD will continue her world tour as she looks set to be the largest superyacht exhibiting at FLIBS this year. After stunning onlookers at the Monaco Yacht Show in late September, BOLD will be flaunting her naval-inspired design and amenities comprising two helipads, glass-enclosed loft and heli-hangar gym at the Superyacht Village in just over a week’s time.

BOARDWALK - 77m / 251’  - Feadship
Delivered just this year, the brand new superyacht BOARDWALK will be one of the largest superyachts at FLIBS at 77m / 251 feet. Commissioned by an experienced owner and designed by Feadship’s Studio de Voogt, Boardwalk’s interior design was curated by Amy Halffman, ex-Westport designer and founder of Halffman Designs.

AVANTI - 61m / 201' - Lurssen
Although these German giants will not be exhibiting themselves this year, Lurssen will be attending the show in spirit through Moran Yacht & Ship’s exhibiting yacht AVANTI. This 61m Lurssen superyacht was delivered in 2004 as PHOENIX and refitted in 2016, featuring an esteemed Andrew Winch design inside and out, and is listed for sale with Moran Yacht & Ship.

BELLA - 53.9m / 177' - Sensation Yachts
Built by New Zealand shipyard Sensation Yachts in 2005, Bella has been refitted to the highest standards in 2019 and is listed for sale with Burgess. With an exterior design by Jon Overing and elegant interiors by Mitchell Rubin / Zuretti, Bella’s interior highlights include features such as a spiral staircase, grand piano, as well as climate-controlled gym and deck jacuzzi.

Other large superyachts exhibiting at the show include 50m / 164’ vessels SHE’S A 10 (built by Oceanfast, exhibited by Worth Avenue Yachts), AMARULA SUN (built by Trinity Yachts, exhibited by Galati Yacht Sales) and APRICITY (built by Mangusta, exhibited by Moran Yacht & Ship).

Ferretti Group will be exhibiting in full force to exhibit a number of notable yachts to the key American market, including Ferretti Yachts’ flagship Ferretti 1000, Pershing 8X and the Riva 88’ Folgore. Ferretti Group will not be the only Italian shipbuilding group with a strong presence at the show, as Benetti and Azimut will also showcase a number of luxury models including Benetti’s 37m Motopanfilo and 40m Oasis. Benetti's 47m steel custom masterpiece FB703 M/Y BACCHANAL will also be on display. Another shipbuilder with a strong presence in the US is Ocean Alexander, who enjoyed one of its most successful years yet in 2020 despite the challenges of the pandemic, and this year will be showcasing the breadth of its range with the 37L, 30R, 35R and 32L models.
