Leapher Yachts Makes Their Mark With HORIZON II
A new name has entered the explorer yacht realm with confidence as the 61-metre HORIZON II touches water for the first time in the Netherlands. As the inaugural launch from Leapher Yachts, she signals the arrival of a boutique Dutch yard with global ambitions.
Previously known as Project LAZARUS, HORIZON II is the first hull in the NAVIX60 series and embodies the yard’s commitment to robust, long-range exploration. Naval architecture by Van Oossanen Naval Architects and O7 Designers underpins her polar-classed steel hull, engineered for efficiency, safety, and assured performance. Exterior and interior design by Cor D. Rover allows for both capability and superyacht poise, providing strong styling with her grey-and-white profile.
Designed as a true long-range explorer, HORIZON II offers 40 days of autonomy at sea and a range of approximately 9,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots, with a top speed of 12 knots. Her hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, powered by four Tier III-compliant generators and supported by 600kWh of lithium-ion batteries, enables silent running at anchor and emission-free cruising for short passages. The result is a yacht suited to remote polar regions and environmentally sensitive anchorages.
Inside, volume approaches 1,700GT, delivering generous living spaces for up to 14 guests across seven staterooms. The main-deck owner’s suite spans 145 square metres and features his-and-hers en suites, a walk-in wardrobe and a private lounge that converts into a family observation room. Throughout, high-quality materials and advanced onboard systems bring sophistication in every sense.
Amenities reinforce her dual identity as both explorer and luxury retreat. A substantial beach club, swimming pool, sauna, gym and dedicated diving room cater to wellness and adventure alike, while an expansive garage accommodates tenders and toys for extended cruising. Every detail reflects the yard’s focus on safety and long-term reliability.
Founded in 2022, Leapher Yachts has positioned themselves as specialists in eco-conscious explorer builds, producing a limited number of vessels each year to ensure meticulous attention to detail. With HORIZON II now progressing towards sea trials ahead of delivery, the Dutch newcomer has established clear intent to compete at the forefront of the modern explorer yacht market.
