LEONA: Where Power, Efficiency, and Elegance Converge

By Nora Hart

At 80 metres long, LEONA is not just one of Bilgin Yachts’ largest private yachts to date, she’s a symbol of creative design, environmental innovation, and personal expression. The second hull in the Bilgin 263 series, following Tatiana and preceding Al Reem, LEONA is a one-of-a-kind creation that pushes the boundaries of superyacht design.

Built in Istanbul by the family-run Bilgin Yachts, LEONA’s sleek, bullet-like profile is wrapped in a striking red-and-white hull, a major visual departure from her sistership. Her exterior, by Unique Yacht Design, is sporty and masculine, with an extended superstructure and carbon details. Inside, H2 Yacht Design delivers a bold, opulent interior filled with gold leaf ceilings, tiger onyx, mother-of-pearl, and hand-crafted sculptures. Each space is distinct, with influences ranging from African motifs to Moroccan lounges and Greek statues.

LEONA's layout prioritises space and comfort. Guest cabins were reduced to allow for two VIP suites and an expansive owner’s deck featuring a private pool, lounge, and a gold-accented bathroom beneath a skylight. A triple-height stair lobby houses a kinetic bubble wall, while the beach club boasts a fibre-optic ‘night sky’ ceiling, amethyst bar, and a fold-down sea terrace.

But LEONA is more than a visual experience; she’s a technical powerhouse. Powered by twin MTU 16V4000 M73 engines, she cruises at 12 knots with a fuel burn of just 250 l/h, and reaches top speeds of 19 knots. Equipped with an advanced IMO Tier III exhaust system, she emits 100% clean air, making her among the greenest yachts in her class.

Her onboard tech includes more than 100 iPads for full system control, a 100-inch cinema screen with JBL surround sound, and mirror TVs in all ensuite bathrooms. Voice-activated systems and a seamless user interface make her AV setup intuitive and guest-friendly.

LEONA is a clear expression of Bilgin’s growing ambition, and proof that a yacht can be as bold, efficient, and personal as the vision behind it.
