Luxury Knows No Limits: Project Agnetha Unveiled to the Industry For the First Time

By Frances Flannagan

YN 20955, code-named Project Agnetha, has been introduced by Heesen Yachts to the market as the newest addition to the Dutch yard’s renowned 55m steel series. A beautiful blend of superior performance and sophisticated elegance, she represents the spectacular evolution of the model, marked by an intelligent layout and an array of intimate oases for those onboard.

Revealed for the first time, Project Agnetha is set to stun the superyacht industry as the latest addition to Heesen’s 55m steel series. She features a profile penned by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and an interior by Luca Dini Design and Architecture, boasting a striking and assertive profile on the water, with her exterior recently updated to incorporate modern design elements.

Her visual length is enhanced by horizontal lines, which are paired with broad expanses of tinted glass, her bold character making a strong first impression to onlookers. Whilst boasting an array of state-of-the-art and innovative design elements, Project Agnetha remains incredibly sleek, with a pillar-free superstructure contributing to her indoor/outdoor flow, allowing for her Owner and guests to enjoy unobstructed vistas.

It is not just her aesthetics that are undeniably captivating; her engineering platform offers exceptional performance, with a top speed of 15.5 knots. She also has the ability to navigate safely in all conditions, which is a notable characteristic of the 55m steel class.

Mark Cavendish, CCO at Heesen, commented: ‘The Heesen 55-metre Steel Class is constantly evolving, and Project Agnetha is the result. The beauty of buying this kind of superyacht is that the shipyard has taken care of all the technical aspects and has perfected the platform, incorporating in-depth feedback from our constant dialogue with brokers, owners and captains. So when clients join the project, they can enjoy the fun part of building a superyacht, focusing on all those details that will make the yacht truly theirs.’

Up to 12 guests can be accommodated across six lavish staterooms, configured as an Owner’s stateroom on the main deck forward, four guest cabins on the lower deck and a VIP suite on the bridge deck. The Owner’s suite includes his and hers dressing rooms and bathrooms, plus a veranda on the starboard side, offering a secluded space to relax. This layout is one of the many characteristics of this line that makes it the ideal model for charters, as guests can enjoy a careful balance between convivial spaces and private areas.

Luca Dini Design and Architecture penned Project Agnetha’s interior, which is focused on a cosy and traditional atmosphere. The warm tones that characterise the colour palette offer a homely feel to those onboard, providing comfort for guests who wish to spend extended periods at sea.

Niels Vaessen, CEO of Heesen Yachts, commented: ‘The Heesen 55-metre Steel Class represents the best example of intelligent superyacht construction. Over the past decade, we have focused on excellence and have achieved it, developing and refining the platform while optimising our supply chain and creating strategic collaborations with suppliers.’

Project Agnetha is a stunning example of where superior performance meets unparalleled elegance, scheduled for delivery in Q2 2025.
