Meet Darwin 102 Haze², The Ultimate Hybrid of Craftsmanship and Spirit
Cantiere delle Marche continues to raise the bar in explorer yachting, announcing the delivery of the Darwin 102 Haze², an expedition yacht designed as much for adventure as for refined onboard living.
From the outset, Haze² was crafted through close collaboration between the shipyard, British owner, and design partners. The result is a yacht that reinterprets the Darwin explorer heritage with a contemporary edge, thanks to exterior styling by Sergio Cutolo of Hydro Tec and interiors by London-based Lawson Robb. The yacht’s striking metallic grey hull, contrasting blue superstructure, and wrap-around glazing set a bold profile that’s both modern and timeless, while custom features, like a redesigned wheelhouse windscreen and a hidden tender crane, reflect the owner’s vision and CdM’s flexibility.
Stepping inside, guests experience a considered blend of tactile materials, open-grain woods, brushed bronze, and bespoke joinery, all chosen to create a serene and inviting atmosphere. Light plays an essential role, with indirect LED ribbons and sculptural pendants animating the airy interior. The five-cabin layout provides accommodation for up to ten guests and a crew of five, with generous social spaces, twin saloons, and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living.
Haze² measures 31 metres with a robust steel hull and significant volume, offering impressive capability for far-flung cruising. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she boasts a transoceanic range over 5,000 nautical miles at 9 knots, ensuring true go-anywhere credentials. Every detail of Haze² expresses a marriage of function and beauty, making her a standout in the Darwin lineup and a testament to the possibilities of semi-custom explorer yachts.
"We take immense pride in the Darwin Class — it represents a core achievement of our shipyard..."
