Miami International Boat Show Day One: Superyachts Anchor Collins Avenue

By Sophia Spanton

The 2026 Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show opened on February 11, marking its 85th anniversary with a reimagined footprint across Miami Beach Convention Center, Pride Park, Sailor’s Cove at IGY Yacht Haven Grande Miami, and the returning Miami Beach Yacht Collection on Collins Avenue, back for the first time since 2018.

Complimentary shuttles, golf carts and rail connections link the four locations, creating a more fluid experience for brokers, buyers and industry leaders navigating one of the sector’s most commercially significant weeks.

Along the Indian Creek waterway, the Miami Beach Yacht Collection once again showcases a concentrated display of motor yachts and brokerage offerings, while IGY Yacht Haven Grande Miami anchors the show’s superyacht presence with large brokerage vessels attracting private viewings and high-level meetings from across the global market.

Innovation shaped much of the opening-day dialogue. Hybrid propulsion systems, high-output engine concepts and integrated docking technologies featured prominently, reflecting a broader industry shift toward efficiency, smarter onboard systems and lower-emission performance. The emphasis was less on spectacle and more on long-term evolution — sustainability now firmly embedded within product development conversations.

Andrew Doole, President of U.S. Boat Shows with Informa Markets, described the 2026 edition as introducing 'a more connected and accessible experience,' highlighting the debut of Sailor’s Cove at IGY Yacht Haven Grande Miami and the return of the Miami Beach Yacht Collection as key milestones in the show’s 85th anniversary year.

As Presidents’ Day weekend approaches, attendance is expected to intensify, with Miami once again positioned as a central meeting point for the global yachting community.
