Monaco Ports Launches High Speed Water Shuttle

By Jenna Mehdi

In the countdown to its official inauguration, Monaco Ports-owned superyacht marina Cala del Forte has announced the launch of its exclusive water shuttle service, Monaco One. The AV2 High Speed Shuttle which is currently undergoing sea trials is designed to transport guests between Monaco and the Italian Riviera town of Ventimiglia in just 15 minutes.

Monaco One hit the water on 16th December in La Rochelle, France, and is scheduled for arrival in Monaco towards the end of February after finalising sea trials.

Cala del Forte marina was purchased by Monaco Ports in response to rising demand for berths in the popular yachting principality and a desire to promote cross-border collaboration.

Welcoming its first guests in October 2020, Cala del Forte marina is now fully operational on the water and working to finalise the last of its on-land services. The current schedule should see these services completed no later than this coming April.

Cala del Forte is the latest addition to Monaco Ports’ world-class collection of marinas, which includes the renowned Port Hercules and Port of Fontveille.

The 12 metre power catamaran Monaco One was designed and built by Advanced Aerodynamic Vessel in La Rochelle, France. Her innovative and aerodynamic design allows Monaco One to reach speeds of over 40 knots while retaining remarkably low levels of fuel consumption. Up to 12 guests can be transported onboarded.

Cala del Forte’s official inauguration is scheduled for some time at the beginning of this summer. After this time, guests will enjoy the remarkably fast transport links between Ventimiglia and Monaco as an exclusive service provided by the marina.
