The Monaco Yacht Show 2021 Round Up

The largest superyacht at the show was Benetti’s IJE, the flagship that joined the Benetti fleet after its launch in 2019. She features a timeless exterior by British design studio RWD and has had the industry talking since her delivery in 2019. IJE is a 108-metre vessel that stood as a testiment to Benetti's gigayacht season, which is well underway.

The brand new dedicated sailing yacht section located at Quai l’Hirondelle encouraged a crossover in interest between sailing and motor yacht enthusiasts, giving world-famous sailing yacht builders a chance to showcase their cutting-edge technology and premium standard of comfort to a market that may have otherwise been closed to them.

Yacht Club de Monaco hosted the Monaco Yacht Summit. The summit brought together a panel of experts who shared their collective insights on the subjects of yacht building, design, management, charter and purchase. Notable speakers on the panels included Jonathon Becket CEO of Burgess, Rose Damen Managing Director Amels & Damen Yachting, and Aino-Leena Grapin CEO Winch Design. These titans of industry shared their collective wealth of knowledge during the summit which was moderated by Martin Hager, editor-in-chief of the leading German superyacht magazine Boote.

The luxury Tenders and Toys section of the show proved incredibly popular. More than fifty superyacht tenders were made available for sea trials and purchase with exhibitors assisting guests with finding the perfect model for their specific high-speed adventure desires.

The Car Deck showcased more that thirty vintage and customised cars plus a selection of bespoke motorbikes that were made available for purchase and test-drive during the show. A curation of bold, niche brands favoured by fine motor collectors, the dedicated automotive space at MYS was a showcase of the superyachting way of life.

With the success of this years show Superyachts.com is already looking forward to what Monaco Yacht Show 2022 might have in store.
